So so happy with my latest leopard sighting and of course photos🙏🏼♥️. Meet Ncilla, photograhed while on drive

Have you ever seen a leopard in the wild?
For me they remain the ultimate animal to find while in drive. Such gracious and stunning creatures 🙌🏼.

I don’t remember if I ever shared my camera gear before or even which editing programs I’m using, so here we go->
I shoot with and I have always been a Canon lady.
My bodies are the CANON R5MKII and the CANON R6, my lenses are CANON RF 100-500mm, CANON RF 24-70mm and CANON RF 14-35mm. I edit my photos in Lightroom and sometimes use Photoshop as well.

Which cameras do you use and which program?

Today we are celebrating my all-time favorite animal in the bush, the leopard. I honestly couldn’t choose one specific photo, because over the years we have had so many special and memorable leopard sightings.
Here’s a selection of some of my favorite photos captured along the years. Let me share you the names and areas where I’ve encountered these special cats:

1. Three Rivers Female
2. Ndambi
3. Xivindzi
4. Unknown leopard near Skukuza Camp
5. Pale Male
6. Saseka
7. Stone Drift Female
8. Sub adult cub of Three Rivers Female
9. Three Rivers Female and her sub adult cub
10. Pale Male

An afternoon spent with one of the Madrid Pride females.
We found her while on game drive with the

She was very focusses on some impalas and after stalking them a little she decided to talk a rest in the afternoon light, which was of course great for me😉.

The roar of a male lion… remains special to witness and hear ♥️. This is the Marataba Male together with one of the Madrid Pride females. Listen closely and you can hear she joins his roaring as well. In the morning the pride was seen together so my thought is they were calling the other female and the 3 cubs.

The impala ram. 🦌

Often overlooked because they are so common, yet when you take the time to really look… the elegance, the curves of the horns, the alert posture and incredible athleticism are simply beautiful.

Sometimes the most extraordinary wildlife moments are hidden in the animals we see the most.

Appreciating the beauty of the everyday in the African bush.

When the light chooses the subject 🦓

The sun gently touching the zebra’s chin and ears, turning a simple moment into something magical.

Yesterday I heard of the passing of a very special leopard: Pale Male 🐆😢

I had the privilege of seeing him several times on our game drives at Klaserie Drift Misava Camp. An iconic leopard, incredibly relaxed, and always a highlight to encounter. He will truly be missed.

He reigned for many years, fathering a dynasty of cubs that still roam the reserve today, a living legacy carried into the next generation of Klaserie leopards.

Rest in peace, Pale Male.
The bush remembers you, as will I🫶🏼.

There’s something truly magical about a wild dog sighting.
During our stay at Kapama River Lodge, we were lucky enough to cross paths with a pack on the move at Kapama Private Game Reserve. African wild dogs are never easy to photograph — constantly trotting, scanning, and changing direction — but that’s exactly what makes every encounter so exhilarating.
Moments like these remind us how special and unpredictable the bush can be.
