Have you cast your vote in our Nuveen People's Choice Award 2026? 👀

You have until Wednesday 18 March 2026 at 2pm GMT to choose for your favourite image. We will be sharing all of the nominated images right here to help you make up your mind.

Today, we’re highlighting Lance van de Vyver's image ‘A Fragile Future’.

Here, a pangolin pup nestles into the warmth of a blanket at a rescue centre in South Africa.

Pangolins are among the world’s most trafficked animals. This baby’s mother was a victim of poaching and endured appalling conditions. She was rescued and, against the odds, her baby was born but sadly shortly after, the mother died.

This image shows both the resilience of life and the ongoing problem of the illegal wildlife trade.

🗳️ You can vote for this powerful image now in our Nuveen People's Choice Award 2026.

Not the start to 2026 we were hoping for. Today we lost one of the world’s most extraordinary animals. Craig was a true gentleman. A real giant in every sense of the word.

For more than 30 years, dedicated people worked tirelessly to protect him from the worst of mankind, allowing him to live his life wild and free. Because of that commitment, Craig became a genuine conservation success story.

One elephant, bringing hundreds of thousands of dollars into Kenya, proving that photographic safaris matter... that protecting wildlife and wild spaces is not just possible, but vital.

Craig inspired people across the world, not through fear or spectacle, but through quiet presence and dignity.

Rest easy, my friend. You will never be forgotten
