Kyle Robertson Photography Adventure, landscape, & wildlife photography. Based in the Sierra Nevada – Exploring beyond. I’m Kyle, a landscape photographer based in Lake Tahoe, California.

I was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, and it’s where I fell in love with photography. The mountains and forests around my town have been a constant source of inspiration for my work. Growing up in a small mountain town has its benefits. I was lucky enough to learn how to mountain bike, ski, and backpack at a young age; and the summers were always a time to explore the mountains with my friends. Out

side of my corporate position, I still get to spend most of my free time exploring the region. Tahoe has one of the most diverse landscapes in the country, and I feel grateful to have grown up here to experience it all. I strive to capture the natural beauty that surrounds us. I am drawn to photograph iconic landscapes that are often associated with the American West. Whether it's the grandeur of Yosemite Valley or the serenity of Lake Tahoe, my hope is to capture images that will inspire people to appreciate and care for our environment.

I wasn't able to capture the lunar eclipse last night due to severe cloud cover, so here's a photo I took back in June of the Strawberry Moon.

The Strawberry Moon is the first full moon of summer which occurs shortly after the summer solstice. Though the moon doesn’t necessarily appear pink or red, the origin of the name comes from Native American tribes that would use the full moon to mark when wild strawberries and other fruits finished ripening and were ready to harvest. I was able to capture this one close to the horizon shortly after sunset making the moon appear even larger to the naked eye.

The low laying clouds are actually my favorite part of this photo as it almost appears as a wave in the sky illuminated by the intense full moon.

Framed by nature in the PNW. With over 100 waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon, it’s probably the best place, in my opinion, for waterfall viewing. This waterfall is a quick hike from the parking area and is hard to disappoint. This nature-framed image doesn’t do justice to just how tall this waterfall is.

While I mostly share my landscape images on here, I wanted to share some images I captured of Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine performing at the Chase Center back in May for the Everybody Scream Tour.

This was my fourth time seeing her perform and as always, she is such a powerhouse vocalist in every sense. I feel like these images truly capture the haunting, ethereal, and cathartic energy that defines her music and performances.
