The first time you see Sedona in person, it’s hard to believe the colors are real. Towering crimson cliffs, twisted juniper trees, and glowing sunsets create the kind of landscape that feels almost too beautiful to be true.

If you’re considering a Sedona elopement, here are a few helpful tips:
• The red rocks look incredible year-round, but spring and fall are especially popular thanks to mild temperatures 
• Many ceremony locations are easily accessible while still feeling incredibly scenic
• Hiring someone familiar with the area makes it easier to avoid crowds and build a relaxed timeline
• Don’t forget to bring layers. Desert temperatures can change quickly between sunrise and sunset
• Stay a few extra days if you can. Sedona is meant to be explored.

Your Adventure Elopement Can Be Fun, Romantic and Family-Friendly

You don’t have to choose between having an intentional wedding day and including your kids. In fact, some of my favorite elopements are the ones where little adventurers are along for the ride.

A few tips if you’re planning to elope with kids:

• Build extra time into your timeline for breaks, snacks, and spontaneous adventures
• Pick locations where they have room to safely explore
• Give them important jobs like carrying rings or being your “official adventure buddies”
• Plan a fun activity everyone can look forward to after the ceremony
• Remember that sometimes the sweetest moments are the unplanned ones

An elopement isn’t just a ceremony in a beautiful place. It’s an experience designed for everyone involved, including the smallest members of the family.

Molly + Jack and their sweet girls ended their day gathered around a thoughtfully styled picnic overlooking the red rock cliffs at sunset, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect ending to their day.

Can I just be real for ONE SECOND???

As a recovering perfectionist who deeply cares about the aesthetic of my Instagram feed (I’m talking framing, the size of the humans in the photo, what they’re doing in the frame, the overall color palette... God forbid there are two red rock posts next to each other, or two photos with tiny humans back to back 😅), it can be weirdly overwhelming deciding what to post next.

And because of that, I have SO many incredible elopements that have never made it to my feed simply because I’ve been waiting for the “perfect” time to fit it in the feed.

Which is honestly kind of ridiculous when I say it out loud.

Am I the only one who goes through this? Surely not. Please tell me I’m not alone.

A wedding day with nothing but desert silence, golden light, and your favorite person.

One of my favorite things about intimate elopements is how much space they create.
Space to get ready without feeling rushed.
Space to soak in the view before your ceremony.
Space to laugh halfway through your vows because you’re overwhelmed with joy.
Space to stay long after the sun has set, watching the full moon rise over towering sandstone cliffs while realizing this day somehow exceeded every expectation you had for it.

There are a lot of beautiful places to get married, but it’s the feeling of being completely present with each other that you’ll remember forever.

Who says one national park is enough? An Arches National Park Wedding that turned into a full Moab adventure

This is exactly why I love basing an elopement in Moab: an Arches National Park Wedding is incredible on its own, but the second you realize Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and miles of backcountry roads are all a short drive away, it’s hard not to turn your day into something bigger. That’s exactly what happened here… red rock arches, an off-roading excursion, and a sunset stop at Dead Horse Point, easily one of the most underrated views in the whole area.

If you’re planning an Arches National Park Wedding, here are some things to know:

• Arches, Canyonlands, and Dead Horse Point are all within a short drive of each other
• Add four-wheeling, hiking, stargazing, canyoneering or river rafting to make your day a true adventure, not just a ceremony
• Spring and fall offer the best temps for a long, multi-stop day outdoors
• A special use permit is required for your ceremony in Arches and it’s worth applying for as early as possible

There is something magical about watching the first light of the day spill across the mountains during a Glacier National Park elopement. The lakes are still, the trails are quiet, and for a little while, it feels like you have the entire park to yourselves.

If you’re planning a Glacier National Park elopement, sunrise is worth considering:
• You’ll experience significantly fewer crowds than later in the day
• The light is soft, flattering, and absolutely beautiful for photos
• Wildlife sightings are often more common in the early morning hours
• Popular viewpoints feel much more intimate at sunrise
• You’ll have the rest of the day available for celebrating, exploring, or relaxing

One of my favorite things about a Glacier National Park elopement is that it naturally encourages couples to slow down. Starting the day together as the mountains wake up around you creates a peaceful, intentional beginning to your wedding day that is hard to replicate anywhere else.
