Which one is your favorite?
Ok let’s be real, boiling down a 211 mile trail like the John Muir Trail into 10 perfect views is like... impossible (but I still think 1 is # 1).

I also realized I left out the view from the top of Glen Pass so maybe... top 11?

The JMT has some of the best views in the Sierra but I’ve seen some stellar ones that are not on the trail. It’s kinda hard to go wrong out there, not gonna lie!

Want to go backpacking in Torres del Paine and El Chaltén in Patagonia? You need this itinerary!

p.s. you can shorten this if you’re on a time crunch: like hiking the W Trek instead of the O Circuit or only doing a couple days hikes in El Chaltén vs. backpacking the loop!

When people think of Nevada, I don’t think they usually picture this side of the state. 🎣

But northern Nevada has rugged mountains, quiet trails, beautiful lakes, and some seriously gorgeous road-trip country.

My trip with and brought me through the areas near Elko and Ely, and I loved getting to see this unexpected side of Nevada.

Don’t skip these spots:
- Lamoille Canyon & the Ruby Crest Trail
- South Fork Reservoir State Recreation Area
- Cave Lake State Park
- Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park
- Great Basin National Park

Have you been on a multi-night backpacking trip yet? These are some of the best in all of California!

Permits: Required for all places. Last-minute online permits can be found for most locations on Recreation.gov.

🌿Leave No Trace: camp in designated camp areas or 200 feet from trails and water in already impacted areas. Remember to bury your 💩 6” deep in soil and pack out your used toilet paper. Do not leave any litter behind, including fruit peels. Obey all fire restrictions as they change year round!
