Dusting the camera gear off and getting ready for my first session since Charlie Kate arrived. It’s been the most glorious 10 weeks of nothing but baby snuggles 🥰 crazy to think these photos were taken right at the end of that pregnancy. So excited to put my creative hat back on for today’s session!

The forecast for Caroline and Kevin’s wedding was not what anyone dreamed of.

The fog was so thick you couldn’t see across the field. It rained on and off all day and by the end of the night I was walking around in my big winter coat. In May. It was definitely not the weather you plan for in NC in the late spring.

But you know what they did? They didn’t care. Not even a little.

Caroline and Kevin spent the day completely focused on their people. Hugging friends and family, dancing in the tent and just living their best lives.

I’ve photographed a lot of weddings, and I’ll tell you this: the weather will be a small part of your day when you look back. Instead you’ll remember most how you felt. And this day felt like pure joy. 🤍

The day started with the good kinda nerves. The build up of excitement as everyone busies themselves getting ready. Meg with her girls and Nate with the guys separated by a thin wall. But it isn’t long before the two are standing in the church breezeway about to share their first look. And Nate’s look when he turns to see his bride is the kind of look that tells you all you need to know. Adoration.

It’s so special to bear witness to these moments.

Summer coming to a close has me reminiscing on the Montgomerys June wedding day 🤍 While I’m incredibly ready for some cooler days they had the best summer sunset over the water while their guests mingled and enjoyed cocktail hour. It was my last wedding before having CK and it was the perfect way to end the season. Looking forward to all the weddings to come!

August 18th 2026 - Our September baby decided she preferred an August birthday and decided to give us 3 extra weeks of loving on her 🤍

Can’t believe she’s ours.

We’re living in the haze of the newborn days. Where everyday moves slow and fast all at once. Giving myself all the time and space to just live in these days with zero expectations has been so beautiful this go round. Having older kids really puts it in perspective of how fleeting these early days are. What a blessing this sweet girl is 🤍

6 practical tips for your wedding day:

1) Add 10 extra minutes to EVERYTHING

2) Do a first-look if you want more photos + less stress

3) Put your details in one box before I arrive

4) Unplugged ceremony = better photos

5) Your timeline matters a lot. A calm wedding day is better than an overpacked one.

6) Leave space in your timeline to just exist.

We watched the storm clouds roll in as we approached the start of Jordan + Kermit's ceremony. The forecast shifting from 30 to 70% chance of rain. As the chances went up the faith remained that no matter what the ceremony would be both beautiful and meaningful. As the ceremony unfolded we watched God so graciously answer the prayers of so many who prayed for the rain to hold off.

As the processional began the rain started to fall but as Jordan began her walk down the aisle to her groom it tapered off to nothing. It was such a beautiful ceremony and a reminded me of Gods care for not only the big details but the seemingly smaller ones that mean so much to us.
