Some brands can’t be told with a plain backdrop and a smile. This is one of them.

Hannah Hannah Moell - natural pigment, florals, and fractals is a multidisciplinary artist and housing advocate working at the intersection of neuroaesthetics, natural pigments, and pure alchemy. She forages her own materials. She treats her studio like sacred ground. Her art isn’t decoration, it’s a nervous system intervention.

So a studio session with a plain background was never going to cut it.

We got in the river.

This is the obsessed method in action. I don’t show up with a preset shot list and hope it fits. I get curious about what actually makes a brand tick, then I build the entire session around that truth. For Hannah, that meant creating imagery that shows her actual process. The foraging. The pigment-making. The alchemy of it all.

Because your brand deserves to be documented in a way that reflects who you actually are, not squeezed into a formula that works for everybody else.

Hannah put it perfectly: It is safe and worthy to lean into your strengths and your curiosities. Not to dim yourself for anyone else, but to live out loud and create.

How can my niece Claire be a Senior in high school already? It goes so quickly! I was grateful to be invited to do her Senior Portraits during our short trip to the Chicago area. We got up early and it was HOT but she absolutely shined! She is a talented young woman who is a skilled and dedicated swimmer with such a bright future ahead of her. It is a joy to partner with her in this milestone. Senior Portrait Sessions are so much fun!

I wasn’t ready for this shoot until I was ready for it, and I think this is a big pivotal moment in my career to really show up as me. I also know and feel that Roxanne cares about me, my business, and my vision. In addition to the studio, we went to Auto Zone and a gas station as part of my shoot, and she was 1000% on board because I have a transportation company. I had tools and parts as props since those aligns exactly with my brand and what I do. There is also a TON of variety from my shoot as you can see! This wasn’t just a branding shoot, it was an entire re-calibration of my life, and I cannot thank Roxanne enough.”

Hi, I’m Roxanne. There are new folks here and I haven’t just said HEY in a bit-
I’m Roxanne -Photographer. Storyteller. Hype woman. Mama of four. Flaming extrovert. MS warrior. Former teacher. Spicy-food enthusiast. Dancer for any reason ever. Woman of faith.
And a person with absolutely no problem talking to strangers.
I love people. I love asking questions. I want to know why you started your business, why you keep doing it, what matters to you now and what you’re becoming next.
Because when you’ve been heads-down building something for years, it can be hard to stop long enough to really look at it. Sometimes you need somebody else to notice.
And one of my favorite moments in this work is when a client looks at her images and says:
“This feels so me.”
My clients call me a hype woman.
And I freaking love that.
But here’s the funny part: I’m also skeptical.
Tell me something is amazing and there’s a good chance my first thought is:
Who says? Where’s the proof?
That’s actually how I learned this was one of my gifts. That asking tough questions matter and that looking beyond just what is typical or obvious has so much value in storytelling.
Women started crying when they saw their images.
They told me they had never loved photos of themselves before.
Business owners told me our time together was the first time they had stopped long enough to appreciate what they had actually built.
So yes, I will celebrate you so hard.
But I’m not standing behind my camera handing out generic compliments because that’s what photographers are supposed to do.
I’m paying attention.
And when I see something good, beautiful, brave, weird, funny or completely you?
I’m going to say it out loud.
We start with what’s real.

What the world needs, what your business needs, is more real connection. So go out. Network. Meet people in your community. Find your ideal clients and serve them so well they can’t stop talking about you.
Your content should be an extension of that. Not a substitute for it.

People love to say I’m so confident. Truth is I cried and begged my husband to move back home when I re launched my business in a new place.

I didn’t trust myself automatically. I had to do the reflection, the therapy, the shadow work.

But somewhere in there I made a decision. I would rather live regretting the chances I took than make myself small and quiet.

If you’re rebuilding right now, mid move, mid pivot, mid anything, you don’t need to perform confidence to deserve visibility.

You just need someone in your corner who sees the whole story, not just the highlight reel.
