We’ve been busy as Santa’s Elves working on a super fun Christmas project!!

In the past we’ve picked the cookies that are included in your Christmas cookie trays but this year YOU get to be in charge of it! We can’t wait for the very first Christmas Open House! We’ll have cookies & treats set out on tables and you get to walk through adding the items that you want, creating the exact cookie tray that you love and know that your family and guests will enjoy! Don’t care for peanut butter blossoms? No worries, just skip right over those. LOVE the sugar cookies? Add as many of those as you want! Each tray will be sold per dozen cookies and I’m envisioning having LOTS of options for you! You will also have the opportunity to purchase cookie decorating kits, cinnamon rolls, Yak Bites, plus a few other surprises we have up our sleeves!

We plan on having complimentary refreshments and a hot cocoa bar available.

Due to the nature of the event, we are not taking preorders for cookie trays. This will be your only chance to grab an assortment of cookies from The Silly Yak for the holiday season - we are not planning on making these available on the website this year and will be a first come first served event.

Mark your calendars now - it will be an event that you won’t want to miss!

I just saw it was National First Responder Day ❤️💙🖤🤍

I would like to recognize the men and women who run toward the emergencies the rest of us hope we never face. Our EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and all those who answer the call when someone needs help.

I have a personal appreciation for this kind of service. My son serves as an Army MP, as did my dad (Airforce MP), and my brother is an EMT. I have so much respect for those who choose this work often under incredibly difficult circumstances.

Today, I'm especially grateful for our local EMTs and firefighters pictured here, and I'm sending that same appreciation to our police officers and every first responder who serves our community.

Thank you for what you do, the people you protect, and the lives you touch. You have my support, my respect, and my whole heart.

A great headshot doesn't happen by accident.

One of the things I genuinely enjoy about photography is studying other photographers' work.

What catches my eye? How is the light shaping the face? Where are the shadows falling? How does the background support the subject? What makes an image feel polished, authentic, and intentional?

I'm always learning, observing, experimenting, and refining my craft.

When I photograph someone for their business, I’m not just thinking about whether they look good in front of the camera. I'm thinking about how I want the light shapes their face, where the shadows fall, how their skin tones look, what the background contributes (or doesn't), and where your eye goes first.

Every choice I make has a purpose.

My goal isn't just to take your headshot. It's to create a portrait that makes you feel confident in how you show up in the world.

That's why I keep learning, keep refining. And that's why the details matter. 🖤

It's Halloween Week! I am not a big fan of being jump-scared...so therefore, I don't volunteer to go to haunted houses. I broke like a 25-year streak and went over the weekend though. Mostly because it was a chance to spend a date evening with Mr. MJCP and my kiddos.

I survived...but should have worn my brown pants 😁😉

Anyway, I had a cool Halloween session this afternoon that I can't wait to share...so enjoy some of my old favorites this week.
