During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend we made sure to schedule in some time for a photo session in our Hmong clothes. Despite have to wake up early the next day, we stayed up way past the wee hours just to capture the perfect shot! I’m so glad we did because they turned out great! Here are a few of my favorites!

The traditional Hmong styles that were carried through the generations will always have a beautiful touch to them unlike a lot of the newer styles we see today. Susan was graceful enough to go with my vision of having a session with the traditional Hmong Xieng outfit. The province in Laos that my family comes from.

This has been a dream of mine to do a session like so, as it captures the traditional beauty of the Hmong Xieng people. Notice the simplicity yet beauty of each piece she is wearing. Thank you Susan for your patience and willingness to explore and make this session fun and playful. I certainly enjoyed our conversations!

I get so excited when I get to capture the beauty of my culture. I certainly don't get to do it enough. Choua was so patient and willing to take direction in every single shot.
