Why I am closing the lingerie boutique Honeybee Boutique & Intimates (not ending bo***ir)
Friends, I want to share something honest: I’m closing the lingerie boutique portion of my studio. This isn’t a goodbye to bo***ir, and it isn’t a rejection of beautiful lingerie, it’s simply time for me to realign more deeply with what feels true.
When I first opened the boutique inside the studio, I believed lingerie was inherently tied to empowerment and self-love...the visual shorthand of “bo***ir.” And yes, sometimes it is. But over time I’ve come to see that authentic womanhood, real presence, doesn’t require lace & dainty straps. It doesn’t require a look that says “lingerie.”
My internal compass has been whispering loud. It is that being seen authentically matters more than what you’re wearing (or not wearing). Showing up as yourself, in your body, in your skin, in whatever clothes/covering...or lack thereof...feels most true to you, that is what I want to photograph and hold space for.
Lingerie IS beautiful, but beauty isn’t always bo***ir. And “bo***ir” isn’t always lingerie. Some of the most powerful sessions I’ve done have been clothed, minimal, raw, unadorned, honest. More than an aesthetic, I want sessions that honor who you are underneath the trappings, the marketplace myth of what sexy looks like, or how we think we should show up for a camera.
So I’m folding the boutique into the backstory of my studio and stepping more intentionally and with more clarity into what I really want to offer: a sacred, creative, deeply personal photo experience for souls who want to be seen as themselves, whether that means a whisper of fabric or the freedom of nothing but light and skin.
