Downtown Tokyo Maternity Photos! When a client asks to take maternity photos in the heart of Tokyo, surrounded by busy streets, arcades, and places filled with their favorite memories, of course I say YES!

I loved exploring the city with this family, finding little pockets of fun along the way, and capturing how they connected with each other as we walked through the lively streets of Tokyo. So much energy, so much life, and such a fun session.

Summer family photos in Tokyo. I know that people are excited about the fall but here is still pretty much the summer. Still hot and humid. I planned a photo walk yesterday and all the trees are still green. I love the fall! But the summer green in Tokyo is so rich and fun to take photos.

This family session at the shrine was so fun. Can we all agree that a pigtail is the cutest?!

Extended family photos in Tokyo! One of the daughters reached out because the whole family was going to be in Japan together, and they wanted to capture some fun family memories.

This location was too good to be true. We had the best time exploring, walking around, and taking photos in so many cool spots. I love seeing everyone together, laughing, having fun, and just enjoying each other’s company. So much joy when the entire family is together. 🤍

When you plan a family session around the cars and accidentally make Kia America promotional photos. (We thought it was going to rain so we decided to take some photos around the car but then it was all good. We were thankful that the rain stopped for a bit)

Going back to Chicago and seeing this family again makes my heart so happy! I love getting to photograph families again and again and seeing how much the kids have grown.

Also, I’m officially convinced that your family car deserves to be part of the family photos sometimes. Who is in?!

It’s been raining a lot in Tokyo lately, but these summer photos are making me miss those sky blue, sunny days.

Loved getting to photograph this sweet family and all the little moments in between. I took these photos while I was traveling in US this summer. It’s always a fun time exploring new areas.

And now I’m off to Chicago this week! I can’t wait to see some familiar faces and meet some new families too. It’s going to be so good to be back! … and all the food that I am craving…!

This family told me they wanted to remember what it was like to have a baby right in the middle of Tokyo.

So instead of making everything quiet and perfect, we embraced real life. I love that these photos will take them back to this exact season of life, not just what their baby looked like, but what it felt like to bring a newborn home in Tokyo.

A little bit of chaos. A little bit of quiet. And a whole lot of love. 🤍

The best feeling is to come back the familiar faces! I have taken their family photos for a long time and it’s so fun to see how much the kids grew up. The oldest may be taller than me next time when I see him.
