He is currently working closely with the March of Dimes Foundation to capture a special image to be auctioned off for charity this year. John was brought up on the Central Coast of California. At the age of 4, he was given his first camera, and has since traveled all over the world for his photography. Completely self-taught, John has taken his art from a passionate hobby to a highly successful enterprise. He recently opened his first gallery at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. It was there he met recording artist and "Headliner of the Year" Frankie Moreno. Frankie believed in his art so much he hired John on as his personal photographer. At the time new to the world of live “concert” photography, John grabbed it by the reigns and has since shot for several Vegas Headliners and shows from Britney Spears to Carrot Top. "There is something about the stillness of a photo that is just completely calming. Unlike a film, which gets 30 frames per second to make a moment perfect, I get one frame. One frame to capture a perfect moment that will never be seen again in history. Sometimes you have to hike miles carrying 50-100 lbs of equipment in the middle of a jungle - by yourself. Nothing is more satisfying to me than walking away with that one epic shot." Says Knopf
