I photographed Jenn + Wes’ intimate [ and beautiful ] wedding ceremony in December at Fredrick Meijer Gardens. They gave me the incredible privilege of capturing their celebration with family and friends, exactly 6 months later, at Studio 18 in Dorr. My favorite part of Emily + Lou’s wedding day was the way it felt like I had read their entire love story by the end of the night. The stories that were shared, the speeches that were made, the interactions with their friends & family - it was like I had been given so many puzzle pieces to their love that I could paint their entire journey in my mind and watch it like a movie. The one constant that everyone knew in that room that day - these two humans were made for each other. And this is only the beginning of the greatness they will see together 🤍💍✨

Senior year is such a beautiful contradiction. It's saying goodbye, while preparing to say hello. It's holding on to memories while reaching for something new. It's standing at the edge of everything you've known and finding the courage to take the next step forward.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s a day to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many and to hold space for the families carrying that loss every day.

Grateful for the freedoms we have because of those who never made it home.

I will always be someone who strongly encourages Fresh 48 sessions. You have so many physical, emotional, + mental changes after having your baby - there is so much going on that often times for many people those first few days become a blurr of a memory. You became a parent and brought a whole human into this world. You should always be able to remember EXACTLY what that felt like + looked like. It’s the kind of love you can’t explain, but I will forever love to photograph. 💙
