What’s up friends! I’m Jenn, the goober behind SoJourney Photography. I started photographing adventure elopements because it’s just so freaking cool to witness everyday people doing amazing things and telling their stories to the world, and the most special day of your life should be no different. 🎉🙌

I grew up an athlete and enjoy challenging myself to new heights, depths, and limits, which is why I’ve pursued so many outdoor adventure sports. If you need a photographer who will venture up peaks, down cliffs, across rivers, or through hail storms to get the shot, I’ve got you—and the experience to back it up. 🏔️ 🏜️

I also went to school for writing, particularly for travel and creative writing. I like to tell a good story, but also to show it, because sometimes a photo speaks a thousand words! 📖 You and your love are so much more than just a few posed shots. There’s a whole creative world out there as a platform to showcase who you are—from deserts, mountains, oceans, tundras and cities, and all the activities you can think of. 🪂 🐎

The world is big and our moments matter, so enjoy the journey and go where your heart calls you. 🩷 And call me if you want the memories captured! 📸 😁

Take the leap for your elopement!! 💍
Location scouting in a new way over a canyon for your elopement adventure in Colorado ⛰️ in Vail has 6 incredible zip lines of varying heights and lengths, and even a free fall jump! Was super impressed with their staff and overall care, and they can 100% make your elopement zip lining adventure happen. Fly through the skies in your dress, invite your wedding party, pop champagne and have a picnic lunch afterwards. Add on a private vow ceremony in the alpine mountains nearby and you’ve got yourself one heck of an elopement day 💯 I’ll be there to help with logistics and photograph it all! 📸

Having an elopement photographer who if willing to location scout is so important, but it’s not just about finding pretty backdrops. Discovering the best lighting times for each unique area sometimes requires a little more than Googling. If you have a vision for your elopement, I’m going to do my darndest to be boots-on-the-ground and scout that location beforehand. If in particular you’re looking for sunrise or sunset timing, i want to know exactly when that happens, especially in the tall peaks of Colorado! Waking up before the sun to watch it rise (despite being a usual night-owl) is one of the many things I do in addition to taking photographs of your day ☀️ Love this location? I got my cats a new toy, and they’re just as happy as can be even if it’s never used the way we expect them to. Made me think of how your elopement days should be too. No stress or distractions or doing things the way that others want. Have a true connection and celebration with your loved one, including things that make you happy and feel like “you.” That’s ALL that matters. 🥂 🐈

When moments turn to memories you can still feel 😍 Maddie and Isaac’s day at Corona Arch was nothing less than everything they hoped for. A first look in the shade, a little bit of adventurous hiking, saying vows amongst breathtaking views, and a beer cheers under a sunset arch. 🍻 No rigid timelines or stress!

Colorado may be know for its ski resorts, but it also has a ton of gorgeous hot springs resorts! Avalanche Ranch Hot Springs in Redstone, Colorado is one of my favorites out here, and a perfect way to end a day of skiing, snowshoeing, or exploring the local mountain towns. Add on a night of staying in one of their adorable cabins, and you can stargaze in the springs all night ✨

When you get your elopement photos back, Kaia makes sure there was additional time and care put into each one
She may not be the most productive assistant, but she sure is the cutest!! 🐱 She always reminds me to take breaks and stay present. As long as it’s to give her attention. Just not too much. You know how it is 😜
