Planning on eloping in Rocky Mountain National Park? There’s a few important things you need to know!
1️⃣ No matter how small your ceremony, you always need a wedding permit to elope in the park! They run out quickly, so apply as early as you can (specifically, apply the year before you plan on eloping, during your elopement month…so on December 1, 2021 for a December 2022 elopement).
2️⃣ You can only choose from a handful of designated ceremony sites for your elopement (12 to be exact). Anything not on that list is prohibited. You can, however, take non-ceremony photos at other spots (like MaKayla and Eric did here…see if you can spot them in this shot!). Make sure to include that info on your application.
3️⃣ Protecting the environment is key! Always stay on trail, pack out your trash, don’t set up arches (unless you booked Moraine Park Discovery Center Amphitheater), you get the drift! We want these gorgeous spots to be just as gorgeous for generations to come.
4️⃣ Keep your guest list small. Each site has its own specific guest list limitations, but all sites are 30 people or less!
5️⃣ Prepare for crowds! Especially in the summer! Rocky is extremely busy, and there are likely going to be people near your ceremony site.
If you’re planning on eloping in Rocky Mountain National Park, save this post as you plan! The rules are more complicated here, but the views make it one heck of a gorgeous place to elope!
