Christmas Mini Sessions are back for 2026! 🎄

I’m really excited to share this year’s Christmas Minis with you, and this year there are two beautiful locations to choose from, depending on the kind of photos you’re after.

Coal Valley Christmas Tree Farm, Richmond
Saturday 7 November

A relaxed outdoor session amongst the Christmas trees, photographed around golden hour. Think beautiful evening light, cuddles, kids running around and a little bit of Christmas magic - without anything too staged or cheesy.

White Cottage South, Sandy Bay
Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 November

A cosy indoor option with festive Christmas styling, but with a little twist. You can also move into the bedrooms for some beautiful, timeless family photos without the Christmas theme.

So if Christmas-themed photos aren't really your thing, you can still walk away with gorgeous photographs of your family that you'll want to keep long after Christmas is over.

Both options are 15-minute sessions and include 10 high-resolution digital images for $250, with the option to purchase more afterwards.

VIP bookings open Thursday 10 September at 8pm, followed by general bookings on Sunday 13 September at 9am.

If you'd like first access, you can join my Mini Session VIP List via the link below.

And now I want to know… which one would you choose? 🌲 Tree Farm or 🏡 White Cottage?

Imagine you could go back for just one day.

Back to when your toddler was a newborn.

Or when your teenager was just starting kindy.

What would you want to relive?

The weight of them sleeping on your chest?

The way their tiny hand instinctively reached for yours?

The endless requests for snacks, or just one more book?

The feeling of being completely exhausted, completely overwhelmed, and completely in love?

What would you want to remember?

Because one day, these ordinary little moments will be the ones you’d give anything to step back into.

And that’s why we take the photos.

Some days writing meaningful captions is easy.

Other days I just want to say: “Here’s a pretty photo I took. Please like it, comment on it, share it and help other mums just like you find me.”

Today is one of those days.

So… hi.

Here’s a pretty photo I took.

Please do the algorithm things. I’d really appreciate it.

Yours truly,
a tired photographer (and fellow mum).

Maybe you’re not a beach family, and that’s okay.

Hobart provides the most beautiful backdrop for your next family photo shoot, especially as we head into spring and summer, when the days get warmer and longer.

We can spend an hour strolling around the waterfront, capturing all those little everyday moments, grab some fish and chips, and maybe even end the shoot with a well-deserved ice cream.

Because family photos don’t have to feel like a photo shoot. They can just feel like a really lovely afternoon together with the people who matter most to you.

If you’re hoping to squeeze a family photo shoot in before Christmas, now is the time to reach out and get your date booked. December will be here before we know it!

Let’s talk family photoshoot outfits…

The key is to have your family’s outfits feel cohesive without being matchy-matchy.

For this family, the warm earthy tones, deep green, cream and brown all work beautifully together. Mum’s floral dress brings in colour and pattern, bub’s cream knit adds softness and texture, and dad’s darker shirt adds a little depth.

And don’t feel like you can’t embrace colour! Colour is everywhere at the moment and I’m all for it. My style guide includes plenty of advice on how to introduce colour while still keeping your outfits feeling cohesive and timeless.

It’s also worth thinking about your location and the season when choosing what everyone will wear. What works beautifully at the beach in summer might look completely different in a winter bushland session.

But don’t worry, you’re not on your own with this!

Your welcome guide and style guide have plenty of tips and inspiration (including my foolproof outfit formula), and I’m always available to answer any questions in the lead up to your session.

Plus, this entire family was dressed using my client closet (apart from dad’s pants and shoes).I have pieces available for mums, dads and bubs, so you don’t necessarily need to buy anything new.

Choosing outfits doesn’t have to be stressful. I’ve got you ❤️

Choosing a maternity and newborn photographer is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make.

You’re inviting someone into your life during one of the most exciting, vulnerable, exhausting and unknown seasons you’ll ever experience.

They’re photographing your changing body when you might not feel confident, and then, just weeks later, they’re coming into your home and handling your brand-new baby.

That requires a huge amount of trust.

So yes, you want to love their work. But I think it’s just as important to find someone who makes you feel safe and supported.

Someone who understands newborn safety, handles your baby confidently and gently, and makes you feel completely at ease.

Because these sessions are about so much more than beautiful photos.

Those first few weeks go by in a blur. Your baby changes so much, so quickly, and you can’t recreate this time once it’s gone.

You’re trusting someone to preserve some of the most precious and vulnerable moments of your life, exactly as they were.

An afternoon with Annabel.

I don’t get to do solo portrait sessions very often, but I wish I did.

Because I truly believe every woman deserves beautiful, professional photographs of herself.

Not just the photos we take for everyone else. Or the quick selfies.

But photographs where we get to see ourselves through someone else’s eyes.

To feel beautiful.
To feel confident.
To be truly seen.

Because we all deserve to have our beauty reflected back to us.
