Why you should pay attention to the Lindsay Clancy case.
I’m not here to argue the case.
But this case forces us to look at something we have been ignoring for far too long.
How we care for mothers.
We have built an entire culture around preparing women to give birth.
Classes.Showers.Nurseries.Birth plans.
But what happens after baby arrives?
We celebrate the baby.
We bring gifts.
We drop off a casserole.
We hold the newborn.
And then…
we leave the mother alone with the weight of becoming someone new.
We tell mothers to cherish every moment while they are touched out, sleep deprived, healing, hormonal, overwhelmed, and sometimes silently unraveling.
We ask,”Is the baby sleeping?”
“Is the baby eating?”
“Do you need anything for the baby?”
But how often do we sit beside a mother and ask, “Are you okay?” And wait for the real answer.
As a society we have made mothers feel like they have to be grateful before they are allowed to be honest.
Postpartum depression doesn’t always look like sadness.
Sometimes it looks like rage.Numbness.Fear.Intrusive thoughts. A mother who loves her baby deeply but feels like she is drowning.
Postpartum psychosis is different. It is rare, but it is real. It can steal a person’s connection to reality. It’s a medical crisis, and the mother deserves immediate care and compassion.
These are not failures of motherhood or character flaws.
They are illnesses.
And we cannot keep romanticizing the postpartum season while abandoning the women living through it.
A baby is born.
But a mother is born too.
It’s time we start caring for both.

There are birth stories my camera is still dreaming about.
Not because they're rare.
Because each one asks something different of the people brave enough to walk through it.
So many ways of becoming a mother.
So many ways of becoming a family.

Birth has never belonged to one story.
It belongs to hope.
To surrender.
To bodies that know more than we give them credit for.
To hands that hold.
To tears that arrive before words do.
Maybe your story is on this list.
Maybe it isn't yet.
Either way, I'd be honored to tell it… exactly as it unfolds. 🖤

Somewhere between the first contraction
and the first birthday
there are a thousand moments asking not to be forgotten.

I'm here for those.
Now booking birth stories
Fresh 48
and family photojournalism into 2027.

Birth stories are never just about birth.
They're about the hands that don't let go.
The quiet.
The laughter that sneaks into the hard parts.
The way a room changes forever because one tiny person took their first breath.

Fresh 48 is for the beginning.
Sleepy eyes.
Hospital bracelets.
Milk-drunk stretches.
The kind of love that still feels too new to have a name.

And family photojournalism...
Those are the mom years.
The crumbs on the counter.
The child wrapped around your leg while you make dinner.
The books before bed.
The way they reach for your hand without thinking.
Nothing forced.
Nothing performed.
Just the beautiful evidence that you were here.
That you loved them like this.
That this ordinary day was never ordinary at all.

Ten impossibly small reasons to slow down.
Everyone loves little baby toes! But the facts are they are SO cute but this photo isn’t about baby toes. It’s about time. About the way something so impossibly tiny can already feel impossible to hold onto. These little toes have no idea they are becoming memories.

I’m now booking fresh 48s and births in central Florida for 2026-2027.

I’m just going to start off and hit you right in the feels with this session. Squishy baby pictures and baby toes coming soon🖤

Black and white photos will always be special to me.
Black and white feels like memory before memory.
It’s something your grandmother would recognize and something your kids will one day hold and somehow already understand.
It asks less about what the room looked like.
And more importantly about what your heart was carrying in that moment.
Years from now, you won’t remember the color of the room. You'll remember the way love looked on your face. That's what black and white holds onto.
