And for the final day of August, here are my favorite photos from stargazing during the Perseid showers earlier this month. These photos feature a few meteors, a lot of planes, many parts of the Milky Way, and even a peak at our neighboring galaxy, Andromeda.

This was, by far, my favorite month for stargazing ever since I started doing it in 2019. I try to go out for a few hours once a month during the Milky Way season, but not every night is a success and very rarely do I get to go out so many consecutive nights. It's special and it isn't lost to me that I'm lucky to be in a part of the country, and in the world, where the skies are still dark enough that so many stars are visible.

I've been thinking a lot about this shoot recently and about how I never posted it even though it was meant for International Women's Month, but hey, time gets away from all of us.

This was my first group shoot and I'm thankful for the wonderful women who are pictured for showing up and making it such a fun and effortless experience to capture so many (4 might not be a lot to some people, but it is to me) distinct personalities. I've gotten to know each of them more over the past few months, especially since this shoot, and I think about how lucky I am to know so many strong and amazing women.

I loved this one a lot, even if it took me 4.5 months to post the photos 💖

Spent 18 hours on the road (with plenty of stops) to spend a few days in the Olympics Peninsula. It feels like another world out there, especially compared to Utah, with its crisp air, flowing water, and vocal insects. If there were ever a place to feel nature all around you, it is in these old growth forests.

At the start of this year, I told myself that I would do more portrait work and it has been a great first half of the year so far. I've done some really fun shoots (which I need to share more of) and I appreciate my friends for not only volunteering their time to model for me, but also trusting me to capture them in ways that, I hope, reflect who I know them to be.

I knew from the start that I wanted to do a photoshoot for May and AAPI Month. I've shared a lot throughout the last few years about my experiences as an Asian-American on my personal page, and particularly how I've been reclaiming the Asian side of that identity as I've gotten older. I wanted to capture the joy that stems from Asian cultures and communities, reflected in the vibrant colors and communal approach to experiencing and sharing food.

This shoot came together at the very last second but it's one of my favorites because of the intent behind it and also the collaborative effort it took to put it together ❤️
