For the last two years, I have been implementing this moto "the photos are about the day, the day... is not about photos". After documenting 150+ weddings in the last 9 years, the thought stuck with me. More often than not, couples stress themselves to exhaustion worrying about the "perfect" day. Perfect weather, perfect timeline, perfect photo opportunities, just total perfection. The reality is that no day is perfect! Your wedding is not a theatrical production, it is a day to unite as one and celebrate your love. Your photos should reflect THAT, and that is something that I am incredibly passionate about.
Valerie + Maurico gave me instructions to document the authenticity of their day. They wanted candid photos that emulated the warmth of their Italy inspired family dinner at Valerie's family home and photos that truly reflected their lifelong commitment to each other. I was specifically asked not to spend much time on any posed photos, so I hope that as they (and you) look through these - you can feel the beauty of a wedding that that actually happened. No staging, no production, no perfectly composed portraits... just love.
