2026.08.22 Today's Lighthouse & Nature Cruise had a nice surprise when we saw this Humpback Whale near The Cuckolds in Sheepscot Bay. We saw a lot of other wildlife including porpoises, bald eagles, and ospreys and 10 different Lighthouses too. What a fun day!! Thank you to the excellent the crew aboard the Merrymeeting!

2026.08.14 Our skies are very busy with satellites! The Perseid Meteor shower was pretty active, but the satellite activity is so hectic! Looking South from Five Islands in Georgetown.

2026.08.13 Storm clouds! We were fortunate in Bath to not have the storms hit us directly. I took these as the storm was over Wiscasset.

2026-08-03 Just as I was arriving home, this gorgeous double rainbow took over the sky! I ran to grab my camera and my 14mm and skedaddled to the boat launch. It was impressive! Here is the whole thing (except the right side of the double) and little bit closer look at each end.

2026.07.03 - Rangeley went big on fireworks this year, but things did not go as planned. Due to some technical difficulties and fires on the barges, the show ended quite prematurely. While the fireworks were happening, I had a view with water reflection and played with both intentional camera movement (zooming in/out during an exposure) and multiple exposures in a single image.

2026.07.18 Machias Seal Island - 7th post. One of each. Although Puffins are the primary draw, here is a picture of each of the birds I observed. I also saw Double Crested Cormorant and Great Black-backed Gull but did keep images of them.

2026.07.18 Machias Seal Island - 6th post. Puffin on the water. Puffins spend most of their life on the water. They are only on the island for breeding season. Here are a few I saw before we went onto the island.
