There are some weddings that remind me just how incredibly grateful I am that this has been my life for all these years.

I photographed Clarissa’s senior portraits years ago, long before either of us could have known that one day I would be standing beside her again, this time with her in a wedding dress, getting ready to marry Thomas.

And I don’t think that was lost on me for a single second.

To be invited back into someone’s life for a chapter this important is something I will never take for granted. There are thousands of photographers Clarissa + Thomas could have chosen to document this day, and somehow, all these years later, they chose me. That means more to me than I could ever really put into words.

Their wedding on 8.8 was beautiful in every possible way, but what I keep thinking about most is how much love surrounded these two. Their families, their friends, the people who worked so hard to bring this day together. There was so much care woven into every part of it.

Clarissa + Thomas, thank you for trusting me with these memories. Thank you for allowing me to witness your love, your families, and the beginning of this new chapter together. And Clarissa, thank you for letting me photograph you all those years ago and then finding your way back in front of my camera again.

What a gift it is to get to watch the people I photograph grow through different seasons of their lives.

I will forever be grateful that I got to preserve this one. 🤍

I know everyone talks about the details, the flowers, and the timeline.

But when I look back at a wedding day, that’s rarely what I remember.

I remember the way they looked at each other.

The way they laughed.

The way being together seemed to make everything else disappear for a little while.

That’s what I see when I look at these photos.

This room mattered to them.

When they first told me they wanted their first look in the porcelain room at the Seattle Art Museum, I immediately understood why. It wasn’t just a beautiful location. It held meaning.

Getting access to the space wasn’t exactly simple. There were a few obstacles along the way and, when the moment finally came, we had only a few minutes to make it happen.

But standing there watching them see each other for the first time, surrounded by something so personal to their story, it was worth every bit of effort.

Some locations photograph beautifully.

Others mean something.

This one was both.

Life has been really hard lately, if I’m being honest. There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes, and some days it feels like I’m carrying everything at once while still trying to show up for my family, my clients, and myself.

But then there are moments like tonight.

Watching Lilli get ready for prom, seeing her excited with her friends, and getting to photograph this season of her life reminded me that even in the middle of hard seasons, there are still really beautiful moments waiting for you.

Tonight felt like one of them.

And maybe that’s part of why I love photography so much. Life moves fast, people grow up, seasons change, and photos let us hold onto pieces of it all for a little longer.

Mother’s Day feels a little different for me this year.

My grandmother is not doing well, and I think when someone you love so deeply is slowly slipping between this world and the next, you start thinking about motherhood differently. Legacy differently. Love differently.

I found myself editing these images tonight and feeling emotional about the quiet strength women carry. The way our bodies hold life. The way mothers and grandmothers shape generations through love, sacrifice, tenderness, resilience… often without applause.

And maybe that’s why these images feel so meaningful to me right now.

Happy Mother’s Day to the new moms, the single moms, the grieving moms, the stepmoms, the grandmothers, the women longing to become mothers, the women who mother everyone around them, and the moms doing their best even on the hard days.

I see you. And I hope today holds even the smallest moment of softness for you.

The steps. The kiss. The way they naturally fall into each other without even thinking about it.

This is why I love engagement sessions so much.

Not because everything is perfectly styled, but because somewhere in the middle of it all, people forget they’re being photographed. And for a second, all that’s left is the feeling of them. Honest, quiet, connected love exactly as it is.

And honestly… finally getting some sunshine in Seattle again feels like a dream ☀️

Some weddings you can feel the moment you arrive.

Not because of the setting, but because of the people.

I had the honor of capturing this day at a beautiful San Diego resort as an associate for a dear friend, and stepping into someone else’s wedding always comes with a bit of the unknown. You don’t know the energy, the dynamics, how it’s all going to unfold.

But this one felt easy from the start.

They were the kind of couple who make you feel instantly at ease. So present with each other, so kind in the way they moved through the day. And their family… they didn’t just welcome me in, they made me feel like I belonged there.

Everything flowed because of that. Nothing forced, nothing overdone. Just real moments, exactly as they were meant to be.

And being back in San Diego, even just for a day, reminded me how deeply I love photographing here. The light, the energy, the way a day like this can feel so natural and full all at once.

This is the kind of wedding that stays with you 🤍
