I'm a photographer who specializes in pet and family photography in the Raleigh area. I'm not afraid to get dirty, make funny noises and try to hold a treat, squeaky toy and a camera or two all to get the perfect shot of your pet! That's what I capture...blinks, winks and paw prints. Parker is officially a year old. Checking in at NC State Vet Hospital tomorrow to see how his heart is doing on medication to hopefully not need surgery for a small pulminary valve. He was the last to be adopted in his liter because of a heart condition. His 6 month check up had a great report so we are praying for great news tomorrow too! He has been the sweetest and most unexpected addition to our family. NC State Veterinary Medicine Triangle Beagle Rescue

It’s been busy in many great ways at TLC. My oldest kiddo turned 12!!! Parker turned ONE year old and we made homemade pupcakes and icing (not because I’m extra but because I didn’t order a cake in time). My kids are in year-round school so we’ve been back in the routine since early July and are excited about 3 weeks off school in September. (They get out of school, maybe a few camp days, and lots of mom time while I alter my work schedule to make up for nights and weekend photo sessions). We are grooving and I’m loving it.

For those who have been here a while, you know I have and do still battle anxiety and depression. So this smooth sailing phase probably would be boring to others. For me, it’s my favorite kind of ride. Drifting along. Taking it all in. This world is a crazy place. But I know there is still so much good!! What good can you celebrate this week?

It’s the little things that sometimes re-break your heart. Whenever I ate ice cream, Baxter knew he would finish it off and get to lick the bowl. While I do let Boone enjoy this tradition now, it was always a special treat I first shared with Baxter. I probably ate ice cream sometimes just as an excuse to let him lick the bowl. 😍

Grief is a funny thing. After the devastation, there is still a silent pain that comes in waves as you remember loved ones you have lost. Lately I’ve had Baxter on my mind in an “extra” way and have felt compelled to remind the world that he was here, but stopped myself from posting.

If my journey as a pet parent and photographer has taught me anything…it’s taught me that too often we feel alone in our grief. So this post is a reminder that grieving doesn’t exist on a fixed timeline and you don’t have to move through the journey alone.

They may not have mastered posing yet…

But they’ve absolutely mastered stealing hearts. ❤️

I photographed 30 pups (all but 2 were puppies) yesterday Saving Grace Animal Adoption. I think they were all competing to see who could look the most awkward. 😆 they preferred snuggles over posing. Which one is the funniest ?

Some dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves. Harry keeps it casual, but deep down he’s absolutely crazy about his mom. And these two... they just fit. Their connection feels effortless.

It didn’t hurt that we had the dreamiest evening light, either. The kind photographers cross their fingers for. Soft, warm, and somehow making an already beautiful relationship feel even more magical.

I’m so grateful I got to tell a little piece of their story. This Freedom Ride Rescue alum has hit the jackpot!

Kind words from Harry’s mom: “I was blown away. The photos were beautiful, natural, and perfectly captured the connection we share.”

Bentley Eugene - 2010-2026. Bentley was my dog in-law for 16 years and one of the only dogs Baxter allowed in our house. He drove me absolutely nuts, but was a very sweet and loyal boy. He always obliged when I asked him to model for me over the years. Here are some of my favorites in honor of my in-laws.

It’s been almost two years since I photographed Hudson and his big sister, Amber, with their favorite people. Before Amber passed away, their family welcomed Aurora into their hearts, and I was so happy to get to meet her during this spring session. 💛

Hudson has settled into his role as the goofy older brother and Aurora brought all the joyful puppy energy. Somehow, they both looked perfectly composed sitting among the flowers… even though they’re much goofier than these photos might lead you to believe. 😂🌸

I love getting to photograph families over the years. It’s a privilege to witness the chapters that come after the photos—the heartbreak, the healing, and the new beginnings. Every season deserves to be remembered. 🐾

Grateful for wild horses, salty air, cousin laughter, and time together.

In a world that often feels heavy, these moments remind me what we’re working to protect.

Hope everyone had a safe and meaningful Fourth of July weekend. ❤️
