Few shine brighter in our community than Dr. Paul Coreil. ✨

After more than 40 years of leadership in higher education and public service, and over a decade as Chancellor of LSUA, he is retiring this month. We had the honor of photographing him for Cenla Focus in front of the arch that was erected during his tenure. With his big, warm smile on a sunny day, he looked exactly as central Louisiana knows him: larger than life, beloved, and approachable.

But my favorite memory of Dr. Coreil isn't from that photoshoot. It's from watching him attend a film final for our intern Austin's class. He spoke with every student, asking thoughtful questions and offering eager praise. He didn't rush. He didn't glance at his watch. He just showed up for them.

That's who he is. That's the legacy he leaves.

Happy retirement, Dr. Coreil. You will be missed. 💛🎓

The Original Holi Fest Cenla 2026 was everything we hoped for and more. Color. Music. Food. Community. And a whole lot of joy for an incredible cause (Children's Advocacy Network).

We were so honored to be there. Huge thank you to everyone who came out, every sponsor who stepped up, and every volunteer who made it happen.

POV: you're at the Mardi Gras parade and the motorcycle unit rolls through like a whole music video. 🏍️💙

But here's what you don't always see: the officers lining the route, laughing with kids, shooting the breeze with grandmas, making sure everyone stays safe while still finding time to actually enjoy the day.

National Police Week feels like the right time to post these. Because duty and joy? They showed up for both.
