Seemingly free from gravitation, the figures in Dimphy Bhalotia’s (Dimpy Bhalotia – Photographer & Creative Director) series “Flying Boys” fearlessly dive headfirst into vast pools of water at unknown heights. The series captures the daily life of young boys living in Varanasi, India during the summer heat, characterizing their innate sense of freedom and fearlessness.

“These moments did not come from a single outing or a short period of shooting. They are the result of time, patience, and returning to the streets again and again. That is also why the work is not in bulk. Each frame is rare, and each moment is limited.”

“Don’t Say Hop Before You Jump” is a collaborative project by photographer Can Dağarslanı and director Nikita Lukyanov, who developed the concept together and independently brought the project to life.

The project follows Alice and Helen Layher, two sisters who practise equestrian vaulting. It moves between intimate moments of their everyday lives: waking up in a field, sharing a meal, playing together and practising with the horse.

At its centre is the circular movement of vaulting. Seen from above, the arena resembles a clock face, with the horse moving along the lunge line like the hand of a clock. This becomes a starting point for a surreal exploration of time, sisterhood and the rhythms of everyday life.

For years, Svetlana Feoktistova has been both photographer and author of the project “Walls Walls” (wallswalls), a page where she documents her collection of walls, taken on unplanned routes, at times returning to the same locations over months and years to cartograph the change.

“My photography practice began in 2015, when I began to notice color compositions on the walls that resemble abstract paintings. Since then, I’ve been deeply interested in this topic, and I’ve started documenting buffs along with other elements of the urban landscape. In recent years, my attention has been attracted by buildings covered with construction mesh during restoration. They evoke associations with the works of Christo and are perceived as full-fledged urban installations that arose unintentionally. The grids are swaying in the wind, gaining momentum, and tags and fresh buffs are gradually layered on them.”

Scenes from citybikeboys’ gloriously chaotic 4th annual Citi Bike Day, captured from above, below, and every angle in between.

This past Saturday, hundreds of New Yorkers took to the city’s iconic blue commuter bikes to race across the Williamsburg Bridge, clear some makeshift ramps, and hopefully claim the $1,500 prize. Part spectacle and part communal adrenaline rush, this event brought out a sense of camaraderie that can only come from watching a stranger risk a very public wipeout simply for the thrill of it.

Spearheaded by skater, designer, and musician Jerome Peel, the day encapsulated the kind of wonderfully unruly, people-powered mayhem that makes the city feel so alive.

In The Studio: Aerial photographer Brad Walls returns to us with ‘Gyeol’, a new series created in Seoul, Korea with choreographer 리아킴 | Lia Kim and dancers from 1MILLION DANCE STUDIO.

Meaning “grain” in Korean, gyeol describes the direction a material naturally wants to move: the line in timber, the pull of water, the way fabric falls. Shot from directly overhead, the series brings the lines of the hanbok and the dancers’ individual movements together into one larger visual rhythm.

The work makes its public debut as the closing chapter of Brad’s first large-scale exhibition in Asia, Moving Life, Still Art, now on view at 그라운드시소.

Stories About Love Presents ‘CHILDISH THINGS’

Childish Things explores the innocence of youth trying to grapple with the adult concept of marriage. Starring Ian Livinksy as Ethan and Ollie Ferrucci as Logan. The film follows the two boys on a nostalgic ride through a suburban American summer as they ask questions about life and love.

Writer & Director Nick Riley Bentham continues his exploration of love stories, when asked why the topic of love he responded “Love is such an intriguing and insanely human subject that encapsulates just about every facet of the human condition. It’s also a lot of fun to write about. Every deep conversation or personal story I remember distinctly is around the topic of love. Having it, not having it, wanting it, not wanting it, how empowering it is, how brutal it can be, how human it makes us. I love telling love stories. I am a hopeful romantic at heart.”
