Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I love photography. ❤️📸
I had the opportunity to photograph nearly 50 children during a back-to-school event at The Alcove at Russell Cave — nearly 50 different personalities, smiles and little moments I got to capture.
But one moment will stick with me for a very long time. I had the privilege of taking one little one’s very first portrait. Ever. 🥹❤️
There was something incredibly special about knowing I got to capture that moment for them and their family. It may have been one photograph, but to me, it was so much more than that.
A huge thank you to New York, Chamari and everyone at The Alcove at Russell Cave for welcoming me, trusting me with your families and helping make the day so special. And a very special thank you to the Lexington Police Department for helping make it possible for these kids to leave with a printed photograph of their own. ❤️
By the end of the day, I was exhausted and sore, but my heart was very full.
Days like this remind me that photography isn’t just about taking a beautiful picture. It’s about people, connection and giving someone a memory they can actually hold in their hands.
Wishing all of these amazing kids a wonderful school year! 📚✏️❤️
