Priscilla Baierlein Photography So, here's the thing. I just want to show you how loved you are...in the special way that only you and your family loves. Because, my friend, you are SO loved.

I want you to marvel at it for the rest of your days. http://www.priscillabphotography.com/contact Because of the gentle kiss upon your cheek. Because of the big squeeze hug around your neck. Because of the joy upon your face. Because of the tears you wipe away. Because of the belly laugh you get each day. Because of the boo-boos you sing away. Because of the magical chaos that will soon be gone.

Because of the way they feel upon your chest. Because of the way they feel in your arms. Because of the sweat and dirt from playing in the hot summer day. Because of the sprinkler drinks, the itchy rolls down the hill, the barefoot runs in the grass, and the millionth time you've pushed them on the swing. Because of the wild. Because of the calm. Because of the cuddles in bed. Because of the way they just barely reach the counter while on their tip toes. Because the way they spin around with the wind blowing in their face and their hair lifting with every move with arms open wide and the world at their fingertips. Because they want just one more piggy back ride or "airplane" ride through the air. Because of the way life is now...today. Because of the way you love...and they love...won't look the same in five years. Because of the way your love dances around your story...your every day. Because you, your littles, and your littles littles deserve to see and feel that love as it changes, as life changes. Because you are loved. You are loved every single day.

You are so loved and seen.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The perfectly imperfect love you pour into your family is beautiful just as it is.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s nothing more you need to do to make life magical and perfect for your family, it already is those things simply because you love and you love big.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are exactly who your family needs as you are.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And no matter where summer finds you—whether it’s sticky popsicle hands, road trip chaos, or the quiet ache of unmet expectations—if you pause and soften your gaze for just a second, you’ll see it:
There is beauty. There is love. There is magic. Right here. In the messy middle of it all.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let it all be…and see the beauty in it…as it is.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let the ordinary become sacred. Let the small moments shine.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let that beauty…that little bit of magic…that love…be our anchors.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let us surround ourselves with little reminders of them so that when they are harder to see, when we are surrounded by dark, we can remember the light.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That is my purpose in photography, in my family, in my life…to provide a space for my people (including you) to see the beauty and the magic tucked away in the everyday…even in the chaos…even in the mess…even in heartbreak.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In each photo session, in each conversation, in each hug, in each laugh…I pray I provide that for you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Space. Reminders. Of light. Of love. Of joy. Of YOUR magic.

Life often feels crazy.
Sometimes the beauty of it all gets lost.
But the love and magic of it is always there.
Sometimes you catch a glimpse of it.
Sometimes your consumed by it.
Sometimes you can’t see it at all.
But it’s always there.
I want for you to always see it.
To hold onto it.
Not just for today—but for the days when it feels far away.
When it’s all a blur. When everything’s changed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s why I do this.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of my favorite parts of being a photographer? Watching “my babies” grow up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This sweet boy doesn’t have those curls anymore.
They’ve moved to a new house. A new season.
But I still feel it all—the laughs, the snuggles, the soccer and snacks, the wild joy of every session.
I remember being in the room when he was born.
I rushed from Tennessee to the hospital.
And photographed one of the most powerful births I’ve ever witnessed.
And now I get to watch him grow up!
What a gift!

Yay! We finally scheduled our family photos (okay...maybe three sessions...).

Not because we were behind.
But because I don’t want to look back and realize I kept myself out of the photos—
that I missed the chance to bottle up what this season…our life…our love…feels like right now.

Scheduling the session doesn’t mean I magically stopped worrying.
I may still worry about the mess or unfinished projects.
I may still worry about the way I feel in my body.
Life will still be busy.

And when the day comes?
I’ll probably be tempted to wait for “better timing”.

But the truth is…
None of that will matter in 20 years.
What will matter is that we said yes.
Yes to pausing.
Yes to showing up.
Yes to being seen—fully, honestly, beautifully—as we are.

Our beauty…our masterpiece…our magic…lives in our day to day. There’s beauty there right in the mess, the joy, and even the chaos.

Love you! I hope you see every ounce of the beauty around you, even when...especially when...you're in the thick of it.

I have a confession.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We haven’t had family pictures made since 2019. 😬
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Me...a family photographer...who preaches the beauty in the imperfect...has, I guess, been waiting for the perfect time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since then, my sweet little boy has stopped sucking his thumb, stopped playing with superheroes, is less obsessed with art and more obsessed with sports, doesn’t snuggle as much and doesn’t give nearly as many kisses. He is now 13!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know the things that I let stop me...my own anxieties and my desire to look and feel the way I use to, two moves, house projects...and the list goes on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The truth is, none of that is going to matter in 20 years.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m surrounded by so much beauty every single day. Most days I see it. I even photograph it. I soak it in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But...I don’t get to see the beauty that I am in. How beautiful it is in the way I show up and pour love into my family...how we all show up together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what you and I both need to hear...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are in the right place right now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need to have everything just right.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The story in front of you is perfect because you are in it. As long as you have love, you have everything you need.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your house doesn’t need to be just right.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your body doesn’t need to be just right (your body gives so much love every day...there for it is already perfect).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need to wait for things to slow down.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need the perfect outfit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your kiddos don’t need to be less wild (let’s embrace that wild).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You just need to show up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are so loved right here...right now...and you love so beautifully.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That love...you...and your family...deserve to be seen, breathed in, and celebrated. All the days of your lives.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PS...as of 12:30 today I officially have our at home family pictures scheduled!

Always grateful to Stacey Woods, Photographer for photographing my little family through the years.

If it were to all suddenly be gone one day, would you miss the way they looked perfectly posed and well behaved with just the right outfit and smile?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Or would you miss the way they lit up the world with their wild?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The every day that fills your now...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀..from the sweetest little snuggles...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀..to the craziest of bed jumps and dance parties...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀..to the magically mundane breakfast and snack times...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀..to the silly little way they see the world with wonder...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀..and the sound of those quick little feet running through the house out of mischief and joy?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My guess is you would, like me, miss the parts of life that are perfect simply because they are imperfect.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I want for you and your babies, and myself and mine, is to remember just how it all feels right now...in this stage...at this age.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Photos that move us today, but even more in twenty years.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Always and forever grateful telling your stories.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🩷 Gratitude post incoming 🩷

I am just simply thankful. For. You.

🥹 Thankful to get to be a small part of your life.
🥹 Thankful to be a mirror to your love.
🥹 Thankful to be a witness to the pain...and joy...and beauty...all mixed up together.

My work is nothing without the love you pour into your family every single day. That's all you.

I say a little prayer before every session...

🙏🏼 Please help me to really see this family and photograph them in a way that they see their love...their joy...and the beauty around them.

Here's the thing...

I want you to remember the way it all felt...not just the way it looked.

Thank you for trusting me with your most precious of gifts. Thank you for allowing me into your home and your lives.

Thank you for all the belly laughs, tears, and kitchen...and sunset...dances.

Thank YOU for choosing ME.

So much love,
Cilla

PS...these are some of my most favorites from this year. Which ones are your favorite out of my favorites?

DEAR MOMMAS, DO YOU SEE IT?

Do you see the dedication you pour into your loved ones every…single…day? Do you see how beautiful it is? Its pure essence of love? Its artistic nature? Understand that it’s an ever-evolving masterpiece, constantly growing and changing. Know that you are seen and cherished, not for the tasks you accomplish, but for simply being present in this world.

FROM THE VERY MOMENT YOU DISCOVERED YOU WERE GOING TO BE A MOMMA…

The tears, laughter, and worries that ensued were all expressions of love, each moment brimming with beauty. Every late-night feeding, every anxious night with a sick child, every concern for a teenager returning home late—they’re all acts of love, each one soaked with beauty. Each mundane task, every comforting snuggle, every familiar bedtime story or lullaby, every time you’ve wiped away their tears, every loving gaze exchanged—all of them are manifestations of love, each contributing to the intricate tapestry of motherhood.

Every experience, whether it’s a shared joke in the car, a planned family outing, a spontaneous kitchen dance, or a moment of solitude for yourself, is an expression of love, each adding another stroke to the canvas of your love.

SO REMEMBER, EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR JOURNEY AS A MOTHER IS SIGNIFICANT AND BEAUTIFUL, CONTRIBUTING TO THE MASTERPIECE OF YOUR LOVE.

What if we changed the way we think about family photography? What if it could be joyful?

Does this sound familiar...

Family photos are scheduled. You are excited to have photos of your family, but then you begin to agonize over what to wear, where to do the session, or if you are having the session at home feeling like you have to have a perfect home, and you can already feel your spouse rolling their eyes over all of it. But you know it’s important so you are going to soldier on. It’ll be fine. The days leading up you are trying to find perfectly coordinating outfits for yourself, your spouse, and your kids. Comfort is at the bottom of the list. Perfect bows, shoes, belts, button-up shirts or polos. The day comes along. You are busy. Little Susie had a game this morning. Bobby has piano practice. You’re rushing around getting everyone’s clothes ironed. Shoot, Bobby needed a nap. Bobby refuses a nap. You’re stressed and feel so much pressure. It’s got to be just right. You get everyone dressed, including your spouse. Shirts are tucked, and hair is perfect. You get yourself dressed, but you know you’re running behind. No chance to get makeup on…will do that in the car. You leave the house in a rush. Everyone is stressed. Traffic is bad. Everyone is hungry. Make it to your location, a few minutes late. Everyone is still stressed. Bobby’s untucking his shirt and Susie won’t leave the bow in. You and your spouse feel tense. Kids feel it. No one wants to be here.

What if it didn’t have to be that way? Is the purpose of family photography to have perfect images of a perfectly coordinated, perfect little family to send on the perfect Christmas cards? What if by doing all of that we’re actually missing the purpose of family photography altogether? What if we give ourselves a break.

Perfection is not the purpose of family photography.

What if we thought of family photography like this…

* Family photo sessions as a space in time for your family to spend together connecting, and strengthening your bond, and their sense of belonging, in an ever-increasingly busy world.

It can truly be a whole experience. A positive one. One where you and your family walk away more connected. With even more of a sense of belonging.

* A chance to tell the story of who your family is, and how it all feels, at this phase of life.

It all changes so quickly. Even in a seemingly “uneventful” life, this too shall pass. One day they’re littles looking up to you (literally), wrapping their arms tightly around your neck, and you’re chasing them around…playing, tickling, giggling. Then in the blink of an eye, they’re as tall as you are and it’s more about hanging out, stealing a little hug, or snuggling where you can. All beautiful, different, and precious.

* A chance to embrace and love the “imperfections” of your family…to see the beauty in them.

When life is busy we don’t often have the chance to slow down and see the hard parts as beautiful. To embrace the shy, encourage the wild. To let them be, see how beautiful it all is. Let this be a time that you get to do that.

* Family photography as a moment to celebrate the love you pour into your family every single day and to see how beautiful that is.

You spend most of your days loving on that family of yours. Pouring your heart and soul into everything they do. That is precious, hard work that deserves to be seen. Deserves to be cherished. Deserves to be celebrated.

* A gift to your future self, 20 years from now, for your adult littles and grandlittles.

In 20 years, none of you are going to care about the perfect outfits. Or the perfect hair. That you haven’t lost or gained those 10 lbs.

What you are going to care about is how much your family has grown over the years, how little they were then, how Susie looked with her crooked little teeth, how strong your love has always been, how it felt for them to wrap their arms around your neck for a hug, how sweet it was when they would pick flowers and bring them to you, how wild they were, how shy they used to be…and dare I say, how young you looked, how you loved being a parent to littles, how it felt to hang out with your teenager, how it all felt, how beautiful it all was, even when it didn’t feel like it.

That there was so much joy there. Look how happy we are…look how loved we are.

But how do we get there?

It has to happen one family at a time. One session at a time, social media post at a time, Christmas card at a time. It is possible. Let’s start seeing the beauty of what-is. The magic in the chaos.

What if we made comfort a priority when picking our clothes for a session? What if we let go of anything, including outfit choices, that was stressing us? Or if we chose to spend the day connecting as a family instead of stressing? If we prioritized sleep and full bellies or anything else we know will help everyone feel good? What if we made it about having a fun experience? Or if we planned a little ice cream outing after? If we played during sessions and embraced anything that came along? What if we let them be wild?

What if we just took a deep breath, told our people we loved them, and let it be beautiful? And, ya know what, we can still get the picture of everyone smiling at the camera.

The instant I walked into their home I could feel the joy. That's what their momma said she wanted to capture. Their honest joy. And I could tell why. It was infectious. Both girls were so excited to show me their rooms, their favorite toys, and sweet little Laurie wanted her blankie and paci. They loved making pictures of what was special to them. Rest of the session was filled with wild, silly, sweet giggles, lots of play, snuggles, a few tears, and oh so much joy. We were all joyfully worn out in the end and I knew, instantly, it was one of my favorite sessions ever.

Oh how quickly this crazy, brutiful, life can change. Our session was in August 2023. In January 2024 they found out their youngest, sweet and spunky Laurie, has B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This family has gone through so much in such a short bit of time and while Laurie has been doing as well as can be expected, she has such a long journey ahead of her. They can use all the love, all the prayers, and the positivity sent their way.

You can follow along on their journey via the Caring Bridge at https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lauriehart24/journal/view/id/65fd80c20961192c0e5c6a41

Their support team of friends and family have put together a GoFundMe page. While I know they would never ask for it, every little bit helps and they are so close to the goal that was set. If you would like to make a donation, you may do so at https://www.gofundme.com/f/love4laurie-help-support-the-hart-family

I know your support means the world to them! I cannot wait to see Laurie feeling like herself again! I know she is going to move mountains.

You can see so much more from their session at the blog https://priscillabphotography.com/blog/2024/03/25/love-for-laurie-lexington-ky-at-home-family-session/ (well, and really all over the new site...I told you I loved our session so much).
