A Crisp Clear Night at Goddard Covered Bridge

Here's an image I captured a few months back of Goddard Covered Bridge in Fleming County, Kentucky. Of the 3 covered bridges in this area, Goddard is my favourite. And the most scenic of the three. When I first visited this bridge a couple of years ago, I didn't think I could shoot the Milky Way here. There is a bright utility light behind the bridge, and next to the church. Upon further visits, I realised I could block the light with the bridge and use a Light Pollution filter. I'm happy with the way things worked out with this image.

The Milky Way at Indian Creek

I captured this image this past May after visiting this location earlier in the year with Jen. We went to photograph a couple of waterfalls and other goodies in the area. While near the water, I noticed a break in the treeline. I used my PhotoPills app to confirm that the Milky Way would align with that gap. I came back a few months later and was able to walk away with this image. I love the soft mist beginning to rise off the water!

A Clear Night in the Fleming County

I captured this image in Fleming County a couple of nights ago while I was out photographing the night sky with Jennifer Stavinoha and Brian Bell. I took Bran out to photograph some covered bridges. I didn't want to comp stomp, so I shot a few subjects I'd scouted in the area before. This tree with the barn in the background, with the Milky Way core ascending upwards in the background, gives the image a dream my, surreal sense of emotion for me. This is a 6 image pano overlapping by 50%

The Milky Way at Clear Creek Lake

I ventured down to the Clear Creek Recreational Area, near Cave Run Lake, for some astro photo sessions. I met up with Jenn Jennifer Stavinoha and Brian Bell Brian Bell near the boat ramp. We stayed here about an hour before venturing to Fleming County to photograph some covered bridges and other subjects.
