When Dad reached out to book this session as a birthday gift for Mom, I was already excited. Not only because I thought it was the sweetest gift, but because this family has been coming to me for years and we’ve only ever done mini sessions together.

This time, we got to slow down, play, bring out the ribbons, let the girls be themselves, and just have fun.

The result? It turned into one of my favorite sessions in a very long time.

Some families are a joy to photograph from the moment they step out of the car, and this was absolutely one of those sessions. 💛

🇺🇸 One of the questions I get asked the most is: “What’s your favorite age to photograph?”

And honestly… this is it.

The toddler/little kid years are pure magic to me. They’re unpredictable, hilarious, emotional, wild, and constantly doing something you never saw coming. That’s what makes them so fun to photograph.

I stumbled across this photo of my own kids from when they were 2 and almost 4, and it instantly took me back.

(They’re 7 and 9 now 😭)

Every time I miss them being little, I come back to photos like this!

Some sessions are beautiful. And then some feel like something you’ll carry with you for a long time.

This was one of those 🥰

There’s something really special about watching a family come together like this. Grandparents visiting all the way from Korea, kids running around, laughter in every direction, everyone fully soaking each other in instead of worrying about “perfect” ... those are always the sessions that end up meaning the most.

I left this session with the fullest heart, so grateful I got to freeze a tiny piece of this season for them. These are the photos that will only grow more valuable with time.

This extended family session will forever have a piece of my heart 🤍
