I’ve been photographing newborns for over 16 years. I’ve seen trends come and go and I’ve come to the realization that I just don’t care about certain things anymore.
1. How old the baby is. Somewhere along the way somebody decided two weeks or under is the “window”. I’m here to say that is BS! I will photograph your newborn baby whenever is best for you! 5 days old… great. 5 weeks old… amazing!
2. If you baby is asleep. Having a good sleeping baby can be as unpredictable as winning the lottery sometimes. We give you tips and guidelines to help achieve a sleepy bub, but sometimes nothing works. And awake photos are just as cute. No need to stress over this anymore! We might not be able to get a certain pose, but we will get other adorable ones.
2. Competing with other photographers. I gave up on caring about this long ago. There are plenty of babies to go around lol. Many of my competitors are actually my friends!
4. Getting likes on my posts. Social media is just as unpredictable as getting your little bundle of joy to sleep! At this point I would rather people hear about me from word of mouth from a good experience!
At the end of the day one thing has always remained consistent… parents love photos of their baby no matter how they are posed, if they’re awake or asleep or how many weeks old they are!
