Once again I loaded up the gear and ventured outside for a location shoot. I do this very rarely, and for very few people.

Returning to the outdoors for this fantasy session has reminded me that creativity isn’t about perfection — it’s about stepping back into the magic, even if it feels undesired at first.

The light, the movement, the dreamy atmosphere … it all came alive the moment I began to shoot.

I do believe the magic of the outdoors may have reignited my willingness to once again embrace the occasional on location shoot! ✨

The past has a way of morphing into sweet nostalgia and winds its way into idealism even when we recognize the harsh reality.

The 1940’s were rampant with rations, shortages, uncertainty and limitations, not to mention the very real threat of death.

Yet, the images, the simplicity and the movies tell a different tale. A tale that inspires us to imagine an era of romance and wholesomeness.

My mind knows the reality but I prefer to let my heart dream.

A hat was the proverbial “cherry in top!”

If it were up to me this would be a fashion trend I would rewind the clock for- the romance and charm of a little tilted bow on top is surely the forgotten feminine power move!

The past was charming and beautiful and nostalgic… all the things!
