Sneak peak of Alex's senior photos as I finish editing his gallery. This is a shot of my computer screen; tap on it if it looks pixelated, and that will (mostly) go away. 😃 (I mean, it's a shot of a screen of a shot, haha.)

Class of 2026! I took Sera's photos at the free outdoor park area by Franklin Park Conservatory. What a pretty setting, and it never fails to impress me what naturals these kids are in front of the camera.

I've been busy with a ton of senior photo shoots this fall, and family ones, too. It's both amazing and strange, in some of these cases, to see kids you've known since kindergarten (Sera included) who now are poised seniors close to (gulp, since my own oldest is one of them) graduating. I'm trying to be better about posting, as I see the last time I posted was 2022 (whoops).

I don't know how these seniors are so poised and gorgeous, but, man, am I glad. I loved Nicole's session a couple months ago in German Village.

I posted on IG a while back, but trying to catch up here.

I've had a lot of fall sessions the past few months, but have been horrible about posting - mainly because I went off of FB on my personal account. But, in an effort to catch up on here, here is one of my favorites from a recent session with the Howards.

I held back on sharing my fall sessions until they'd sent out Christmas cards, so since we're well into January now, here are some of my favorites from the Rushes' session. I've photographed them every fall for years, watched as they added Maggie to the family, and seen each girl grow and her personalities emerge. I'm grateful for them and all my loyal families.
One thing I heard a lot this fall was that clients had "trouble picking their favorites," because they loved so many, which means the world.

Fall is always crazy-busy and I can be bad about sharing in a timely manner (plus, with family photos, I don't want to post photos before cards go out), but here are some recent senior photos of my good friend, Cheryl Day's, son, Cameron.

I often look at pictures from a photojournalism perspective: freezing a moment of an event in time; capturing a relationship within a split second. As photographers, we look at depth of field, composition, sharpness, how the sun backlights a family. But then I put mysef in the client's shoes: would I like how my kids are smiling here; do we look natural; is eveyone looking at the camera? Despite all that, sometimes our favorites don't match yours.

I'm not lying when I say it would be really hard to pick my favorites from among Jacquie Boff and daughter Hailey's photos. Because no matter the setting, whether posed or not, the love between these two is evident in little captured moments, and that always comes across in photos, loud and clear.

Whoops, accidentally shared on my personal page again (sorry, Connor 😆) instead of here.

My next-door neighbor often brings over seeds, vegetables from his garden, bunches of dried lavender. While I've given him a tomato cage, I felt bad as I didn't have produce to give since we planted our garden late and the pumpkins and corn (the ones Lemon doesn't get, silly dog 🙄) still are growing. So several weeks ago, when he asked for new headshots/profile photos, I was happy for the opportunity to share what I can give. I never shared here, so ...

When everything shut down in March 2020, photographers were banned for ahwile from doing even outdoor shoots. During that time, Theresa Dean, whose family I've photographed numerous times through the years, bought gift certificates to use at a later time. It was a way, she said, of supporting small businesses when she had the means to do so. Earlier this month, we finally used one of those certificates with an extended-family session at Westgate Park in Columbus - a Mother's Day gift to her mom. I'm grateful for clients like Theresa.
