There’s just something so special about coming back to your hometown, especially when Michigan is showing off all those gorgeous fall colors!

Ashley traveled all the way from Texas for her senior photos, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful evening! From the peaceful fall scenery at Clover Lake to the charm of downtown Linden, we got to capture a little piece of home during such an exciting chapter of her life.

And can we just talk about how absolutely gorgeous this senior girl is?! 😍

I had the best time spending the evening with Ashley and her family, chasing that beautiful fall light, sharing some laughs, and capturing memories she’ll get to take all the way back to Texas with her.

Thank you for trusting Thompson Studios with such a special milestone! Michigan sure knows how to welcome you home! 🍂❤️

Such a wonderful morning at LaFontaine in Highland for the Chamber Alliance with the Hartland, Howell, and Brighton chambers! ☀️

I loved catching up with old friends, getting to know some new faces, and spending time with people who care so much about our local communities. Every conversation is a chance to learn a little more about the people and businesses that make this area so special.

Grateful for the relationships that continue to grow and the new connections that start with simply showing up and saying hello! 🤍

If you’ve ever made one of my photos your Facebook profile picture, just know I probably saw it and smiled a little extra. 🥹🤍

There’s something so special about knowing that out of all your photos, you chose one I captured to represent YOU. That you loved it enough to make it the first thing people see—that’s such an honor.

It might seem like a little thing, but to the photographer behind the camera, it means so much. Thank you for letting me capture you, your people, and the moments you’re proud to share. 📸🤍

Feeling incredibly fortunate and incredibly grateful to have some of the best clients on the planet! 🥹🤍

Seeing sweet words like these reminds me just how lucky I am to do what I love with people who make it so meaningful. You trust me with your milestones, your families, your businesses, and memories you’ll never get to recreate. That means more to me than I can put into words.

And then you go a step further—sharing my work, recommending me to your friends, leaving thoughtful reviews, and cheering me on. Please know I see it, I appreciate it, and I never take it for granted.

Thank you for being such a special part of Thompson Studios and for letting me be a small part of your stories. My heart is so full. 📸🤍

I had so much fun capturing some beautiful ladies at Hush Intimate Apparel this morning! 🤍

Lisa, the owner, and her amazing staff are just incredible. They make everyone feel so comfortable and celebrated, and it’s always such a joy getting to work with them.

A big thank you to all of our beautiful models for helping showcase just how special body-inclusive fashion can be. It was so fun seeing this season’s colors and capturing all of you! ✨

P.S. You heard it here first… Hush’s Christmas colors will be released at Holiday Glow in November! 🎄❤️

Caught the sunset on MSU’s campus in East Lansing tonight with William, a soon-to-be electrical engineer! 💚🤍

One of my favorite parts of these sessions is getting to hear about what comes next. So much hard work goes into reaching this point, and I love getting to slow down for a little while and capture it before the next chapter begins.

Thank you for spending part of your evening with me, William! Such a beautiful night to celebrate everything you’ve worked toward. 📸

Love my Greater Brighton Area Chamber family!!

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT: SARA SCHMITZERLE!

She's usually the one behind the camera capturing everyone else's special moments, but today we're turning the spotlight on her!

Meet Sara Schmitzerle of Thompson Studios

Sara is not only one of our amazing Chamber Ambassadors, but she's also the official photographer for our Women's Business Network of Michigan

Sara has a passion for helping businesses grow, welcoming new members, and building meaningful connections throughout our regional business community. And when she's not behind the camera or networking, you might just find her out on the ice playing hockey!

Thank you, Sara, for sharing your talents, time, and enthusiasm with our Chamber family! We're lucky to have you on our Ambassador team!

Help us give Sara a little love in the comments!

The mobile office has quite the view today! 🍁📸

Northern Michigan is showing off, and I’m soaking up every bit of color while working through your beautiful galleries. Cozy blankets, fall air, and so many sweet moments on my screen—this is a pretty perfect way to get some editing done. 🧡

Feeling extra grateful that Thompson Studios gets to come along wherever life takes me.

Thompson Studios may be my full-time business, but it’s still very much a passion project, too. 🤎

As much as I love capturing everyone else’s moments, it feels good to slow down and enjoy a few little moments of my own. Thanks to always being chronically early, I had some extra time before an elopement this evening at Kensington Metropark and got to photograph these beautiful guys.

No shot list, no timeline to follow just yet. Just me, my camera, and a little reminder of why I fell in love with photography in the first place. 📷🍂
