Thereโs something pretty special about being welcomed into a wedding day with a group of people youโve never met before and somehow leaving feeling like you were part of the family.
Casey & Jaimeโs intimate elopement started at Garland before heading to the Manor - my second home atp. ๐
But this day was about so much more than the places.
At Garland, we recreated a family photo taken in the same spot nearly (or possibly over?) a decade ago. Casey insisted I join everyone for the champagne toast. Grandpa invited me to dinner with everyone afterward. By the end of the night, I genuinely couldnโt remember the last time Iโd felt so completely at home with a group of people who had been strangers to me just hours earlier.
And I loved another little piece of their story, too: While this family isn't local, this area isnโt new to them. Like many of my clients, they've been coming to Lewiston since the โ80s, and not only did they choose to be married here, they intentionally chose several local vendors for their day - including myself.
I think sometimes we forget that the places we call home belong to other peopleโs stories, too. Lewiston means something to people who have never lived here. Itโs where they spent summers, where their families returned year after year, where decades of memories accumulated โ and sometimes, eventually, where they come back to get married.
