I’m hosting a fellow photographer in my studio next Tuesday for a teaching session, and I need two sweet newborns to help us out.

Here’s what’s involved:
Baby needs to be 7–21 days old on September 8
Two sessions, about 2 hours each — one is all about parent and baby posing together, the other focuses just on baby poses
You’ll get 3 high-res digital images of your little one for your time (and can purchase more if you want them)

If your baby fits the window and you’re up for it, I’d love to have you. It’s a relaxed morning, you get gorgeous photos, and you’re helping a fellow photographer grow their craft.

When my youngest was born, I couldn’t grasp that he was the last — the last baby I’d rock to sleep, his breath on my neck as he drifted off. I needed a way to hold onto those moments, so I started “measuring” his tiny newborn foot in my palm every day.

I still do it now, on the couch after school, as he tells me about his day — a life I’m no longer the center of. His feet have changed. So have we.

I’m not here to remind you how fast it goes. You already feel that.

I’m telling you because the tiny details are the whole story. Zoom in on them while you can.

Started the morning with the sweetest baby boy spent the afternoon updating my September and October calendar, and ending my day at the beach with one of my favorite and first families. So grateful for the all the families, old and new, who have supported me throughout the years. You have no idea how much joy you bring.

Lots of new faces around here lately, so I figured it’s time for a re-introduction. I’m Jackie, and I’m now five years into shooting newborns professionally — which apparently makes me baby whisperer-ish, though I’d say that’s generous. Mostly I just narrate everything out loud like a very quiet nature documentary, I’m patient to a fault, and I’m not above a little bribery when the moment calls for it. I also love hearing all about your pregnancy and birth story while I work — tell me everything, I’m not just being polite. Outside the studio my house is its own kind of chaos: five kids, and a wonderful foreign exchange student from Germany. There is genuinely nothing your baby or toddler can do that will faze me. We also have two dogs, a big German shorthair named Beaux and a dachshund named Mable who has fully ruined me for all other dogs.
