I used to think having a career was all about climbing the corporate ladder.

But when I became a mom, I realized I didn't want to choose between the next rung and being my fully-present-best-self for my son after hours.

I want him to know his mom is tired from pouring her heart out because she's building something that betters the world (even one tiny shmidge). Not tired from surviving another day of unchecked ego, office politics, and working hard to make someone else look good.

This page is that life, in real time.

What does your love look like right now? Not the cleaned-up version. This one. The real one. Happening today.

It's natural to feel like you need to wait for the *right time* to schedule family photos.

But here's what I'm learning as a mom watching my son grow up before my very eyes: try as we might... time is fleeting.

You don't need a milestone, a holiday, or a "good enough" day to make this moment worth keeping. You don't need a clean house, kids who sit still and smile on cue, or to feel comfortable in front of a camera.

What you need is someone who walks into your real, lived-in life and captures it exactly as it is. Tear-streaked tantrums, pancake breakfasts, bedtime snuggles. The ordinary moments that are actually the whole point.

That's documentary family photography. No forced smiles, no fighting kids into matching outfits. Just a couple unhurried hours, in your home, on your terms — capturing what's already true and already beautiful, today.

The real moment is always better.

We'd already technically wrapped. And we were walking to the car, my camera still in hand out of habit more than anything – and then he ran up with this.

No plan, no setup, no shot list.

Just proof that the best stuff happens when you keep watching a liiiiittle longer than you think you need to.

The big moments aren't always all that big.

Sometimes it's just some trucks, a sandbox, and a mom willing to get dirty enough to get down in the sand with him.

Nothing planned, nobody dressed up. Just thirty minutes he won't remember as a photoshoot. It was just another day mom got in the sandbox with him.

When I think about the families that let me come witness their lives, it's hard not to be overcome with emotions. I'm so grateful for that kind of trust.
