I’m finishing up some motherhood galleries from my annual Motherhood Event and these sessions are always such a joy.

Motherhood sessions are some of my favorite sessions to photograph. And just fyi they don’t have to happen only during my annual Motherhood Event each spring. These sessions are available year-round and can even be bundled with your family session for a special rate through my Motherhood Collection.

The focus is simple: documenting you and your littles as you are. The little details, the snuggles, the silliness. You in this season with them.

Precious newborn moments.

I’ve gotten to meet so many new babies lately and it’s truly such a joy. Those first few months are tender, joyful, exhausting, and so beautiful all at once. And their little baby details change so quickly.

It’s one of my favorite seasons to document.

I’m currently booking newborn sessions through fall. If you’re expecting, I’d love to connect. Link in bio.

I spend a lot of my time at home lately repeating the same phrase…“nothing ever has to be perfect.”

My little girl is a tiny bit of a perfectionist, and it’s something we’re working through almost daily. Crafts, spelling, math, drawings… you name it.

I started saying this when she was younger and it's a phrase that we use a lot - "nothing ever has to be perfect. ever.”

And now she says it back to me. I’ll start the phrase “nothing ever has to be…” and she (usually a little reluctantly) finishes the sentence.

It’s become a thing in our house. A way to handle things when something isn’t going quite how we hoped. Or something we say right before we do something new or challenging.

And honestly it’s a reminder I probably need just as much.

Because nothing really is perfect. And I don’t think it’s supposed to be.

Things feel more enjoyable when we stop trying to make everything that way. Most of the time, it’s already "perfect" in its own way.

A little reminder that your home is a perfect place for family photos.

We had planned to take these outside, but the wind and unexpected cold front in March had other plans… so we pivoted.

And honestly, I love sessions at home. The kids are usually more comfortable, no one has to rush out the door, and it just feels easier. Plus snacks are literally steps away (iykyk).

I know sometimes the thought of doing photos at home can make you feel like everything needs to be spotless, but truly, from one busy mom to another… it doesn’t. Your house doesn’t need to look a certain way. We’ll find the best light and settle in there.

With summer coming (and that heat 🙃), don’t rule it out. The long evenings, popsicles out back, everyone just together… that’s the kind of thing you’ll want to remember.

P.S. Since I’m talking about at-home sessions… I’ll be sharing a little something for summer ones in my newsletter soon. If you’re on the list, keep an eye out. If you want to join, link’s in my bio ✨.

Newborn sessions 💕. I love the little details and quiet moments like the ones here.

It’s something I’m thinking about in every session. Looking beyond the “smile at the camera” photos, because there’s always so much more there.

The little hands. That newborn hair. The way you snuggle them close. How they fit in your arms.

These detail photos are just as important as the traditional portraits.

One-year sessions don’t have to all look the same.

Your little one doesn’t need to “sit and smile" the whole time.

It’s about documenting this first year in a way that fits your family.

Letting them move… explore… snuggle… be silly. Dive head first into that cake, or just poke around and try it out.

These sessions are designed to feel easy. We go at your baby’s pace, take breaks when we need to, and lean into whatever this stage looks like for them.

Most families plan these around that first birthday, but it doesn’t have to be exact. A little before or after is just as meaningful. Even those earlier milestones - 6 months, 9 months - are just as special to document.

I offer both full sessions and petite sessions for milestones, depending on what feels like the best fit. More time to settle in as a family or something shorter and simple of just your little one… both are such a sweet way to document this stage.

(Want to see more of this past session? Head to the blog under family posts. It’s one of my all-time favorites.)

"So incredibly impressed with Amber! She was so kind and patient with my daughter and made our photo session so relaxing and easy! The pictures turned out beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. I’m so happy to have such sweet memories captured with my daughter before baby brother arrives!"

Reviews like this mean everything to me 💕.

I want your session to feel easy and relaxed, and to give you something that feels beautiful and true to your family.

So grateful for the families who trust me with seasons like this.

The quiet before everything changes ✨

When I cull your gallery, everything is done with intention. Every photo there for a reason. Moments of joy, love, beauty, stillness, movement - the things that make up your family and season you're in.

Every session and every gallery is different. And that’s the best part.

There’s this idea that newborn photos have to happen within a very specific window… like if you miss it, you missed your chance.

But the truth is, you don’t have to photograph your baby at any exact “right” time.

This sweet baby was a little over a month old, and it was still just as meaningful. Still slow. Still full of those tiny details you’ll want to remember.

If you’re thinking about timing, here’s what I usually tell families:

In those first 1–2 weeks, babies are *usually* sleepy and all curled up. It’s usually a great time if you love that sleepy newborn look. And for some families, that transition into life with a new baby feels like the perfect time to document those first few days at home.

Around 1–2 months in, babies start to become more alert. They’re a bit more curious, and your family has had some time to settle in. Siblings have usually started to adjust too, and your body has had a little time to heal.

There’s no better or worse option. Just different seasons of newborn life.

Some families love documenting those early, sleepy days. Others need a little more time… to heal, to settle in, to feel like themselves again.

Both are just as meaningful.

If you’re on the fence or worried you waited “too long”… you didn’t. I promise.
