Finished up my fourth wedding in 2 weeks this evening. Three of those were THIS week. That’s a lot for a part time photographer with a full time day job. I anticipated being exhausted this week, but I am actually just full of love and gratitude.

I walked away from this one in particular with a big smile on my face and lots of love in my heart. This wedding was so full of all the things weddings should be and lacking in all the things they shouldn’t. It was a privilege to capture. Thanks to all my couples for giving me the coolest part-time gig of all time. 🫶🏼 Shadi McOsker

If I were my husband I would’ve given up.

I might have given up when I saw the college graduation statistics for children with foster care backgrounds. I might’ve given up when the military looked like a faster route to a career for me. I would have given up when my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 20s, and I certainly would have given up when the cancer took her away from me. I would’ve given up when I faced illness of my own. I would’ve given up when I moved to a different state to support my wife and our future. I would've given up when I had to work 12 hours in the sun just to come home and do homework every night. I would’ve given up when the adversity behind closed doors felt like an attack from the universe telling me I couldn’t do it.

But he didn’t give up. He put his head down and fought for this degree. Harder than most college kids ever have to. I am so far beyond proud of him that it’s hard to express. I am grateful to be your wife.
