Hey, I'm looking at you Friday 👀
Seems as though this particular cow had it out for me and my camera. She must have known I was a photographer and not a cowboy or the fact I was interrupting breakfast. Friday Tip: If you are looking for clean crisp photos in the winter, always choose morning light over evening light. 🌅

When working with Cowboys there are two things you need to know:
1️⃣ Keep your mouth shut and stay out of the way (I learned quick)
2️⃣ Always and I mean always close the dang gate

As easy as this looks, it's actually quite hard to maneuver a 900-pound longhorn for a close-up. 🐃
I like to photograph animals from the ground and most animals go into attack mode when I get down for the photo because they feel threatened. Thank goodness this longhorn had a great handler who was able to keep her under control during her modeling session.

This photo was taken using the Panning technique. It requires you to use a slower shutter speed while moving the camera at the same time as the subject. Moving Subject = LOTS of trial and error

The was a shoot from back in 2019 with the students from All Saints Episcopal School.
The students looked at me funny when I told them to turn off the lights, but really the first thing I do when photographing in fluorescent lights is turn off the lights and use strobe lights instead. In this case, this epic science project created the best light 💡
