Let’s be real—Texas August heat is no joke, but there is something so magical about those last few slow, barefoot days before the school year routine completely takes over.

Every photographer has a specific setting that gets them excited to shoot, and for me, it’s a chaotic, sunlit hospital room right after a baby arrives. 🏥 It’s why I have a pretty firm rule that I only book Fresh 48 sessions for hospital births, rather than birth centers or home births.

I promise I’m not just trying to be difficult! It’s truly an artistic choice. There is a very specific, documentary look to a hospital room that tells a distinct story. Because birth centers are styled to look like beautiful home environments, a session there loses that raw hospital aesthetic and basically becomes a lifestyle newborn session.

I want to make sure your photos match your investment perfectly. If you want that nostalgic, documentary “first hours” look, let’s document it in the hospital. If you want those cozy, snuggly family portraits, let’s do a lifestyle session in your living room where you can actually relax!

Alright, expecting mamas—I’m doing something I almost never do. I have a tiny window in my schedule, so I’m offering a rare break on my Fresh 48 sessions this weekend only.

To be clear: Your baby does NOT have to be born this weekend! This applies to any due date you have on the horizon. You just have to actually book it before Sunday night to lock in this rare pricing.

If you want those raw, blurry-eyed, first-hours-of-life moments captured right in the hospital, this is your sign.
The Experience: A 30-minute hospital session capturing those fleeting first moments.

What’s Included: 10 digital photos of your choice, plus full access to my client closet to dress you or big siblings. And yes, you’ll have the option to purchase additional photos from your gallery if you can’t narrow it down!

The Locations: I’ll come to you at Texas Health Hughley right here in Burleson, or any of the Mansfield, Alliance, or Fort Worth metro hospitals (Andrews, Harris, etc.).

Let’s be real about “Model Calls” for a second.

Every time a photographer posts a model call, people immediately think “Ooh, awesome, a free photoshoot!”

And honestly? That’s usually when the chaos starts.

When a session is completely free, people treat it like it’s worth exactly that—nothing.

They show up late, they completely ignore the vision or styling guide, and they roll up in matching neon graphic tees that totally ruin the point of the shoot. Or worse—they just straight-up ghost you, leaving you sitting alone in a field wasting your time and energy.

Look, there is a massive difference between a brand-new photographer trying to figure out how to use their camera and an established business trying to shoot specific branding content.

The Free Model Calls: Usually, these are done by brand-new or novice photographers who just need *anything* to put on a blank portfolio. (Sometimes an amazingly talented pro will do it for free, but let’s be real—that’s rare).

Paid Model calls: This is where I land. I charge a fee for my model calls, and I’m not sorry about it.
I do it to protect my time, my energy, and to make sure people actually take the session seriously.

These shoots are for my branding.We both want to see a specific creative vision come to life, and having a little financial skin in the game ensures we’re on the same page and respect each other’s time.

The good news? It’s still a massive win for you. Model calls are always deeply discounted—mine are usually **$150 to $200 off my regular price** depending on the session. So you get a high-end experience and my signature bold, vibrant images for a fraction of the cost, and I get a client who actually follows the styling rules and shows up.

It’s a mutual exchange of respect, not a free-for-all giveaway.

I’m still looking for a couple more families for a fresh 48, indoor maternity and lifestyle newborn model call.

Here is what I’m looking for:

1 Studio Maternity: This will be shot in my home studio here in Burleson (I converted my master bedroom since we upgraded spaces, and the light is perfect). I need someone who is currently between 27 and 33 weeks pregnant and wants a relaxed, gorgeous indoor look.

2 Fresh 48: This takes place at the hospital or birth center within the first 48 hours after delivery. Because of the quick turnaround, you must be delivering in the Fort Worth metro area (Fort Worth, Keller, Burleson, Alliance, HEB, or Mansfield).

3 Lifestyle Newborn: This will also be held at my house in Burleson. Baby needs to be between 0 and 14 days old. This is a laid-back session focused on connection, not rigid posing. Family and siblings can absolutely be included.

The fine print:

Images will be used for marketing and portfolio updates, so you must sign a model release.

Styling is a massive part of my brand’s look. For these sessions, you HAVE to agree to use my client closet or purchase specific clothing items if I don’t have your exact size on hand. We will work together on this to make sure it looks incredible.

To make sure everyone is serious and respects each other’s time, there is a discounted fee required to secure your spot. In exchange, each session includes 10 digital images.
