A little bit about how I got into photography… 🤎
For those who have known me for a long time, you know I’ve always loved art. From elementary school through middle school, high school, and even college at TCC, art was always a big part of my life.
During one of my college art classes, I had a project that required me to borrow my dad’s Nikon camera. I had no idea that one assignment would completely change my life. From that moment on, photography became my passion.
Wanting to learn as much as I could, I enrolled in a beginner’s continuing education photography course and earned my certification. After that, I took another photography class at a local studio to continue building my skills.
Not long after, one of my former bosses—who wrote concert reviews for a magazine on the side—gave me an incredible opportunity to document concerts. In 2012, I received upfront photography passes to photograph Dierks Bentley, Gotye at WinStar in Oklahoma, Train at Verizon Theatre, Bronze Radio Return, and even the grand opening of the Mist nightclub at WinStar. Those experiences pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me so much about photography in fast-paced, challenging environments.
After that, I worked at JCPenney Portraits, where I gained even more hands-on experience working with families and children. I continued photographing friends’ special moments, and little by little, what started as a passion turned into the business I have today.
Now I have the privilege of capturing memories for so many wonderful families, and I truly can’t imagine doing anything else. Photography is so much more than a job to me—it’s my passion. The only thing I love just as much is working with children, which is why being able to combine both has been such a blessing.
