May is Celiac Awareness Month, which is very timely since I tested positive just last month 🌾

I had just pulled into a wedding venue to shoot a 10 hour day, McDonald’s chicken nugget in hand, when my doctor called to tell me I tested positive for both markers for Celiac disease. He called on a Saturday because he wanted me to know as soon as possible.

I sat in my car and cried. I cried for the almond croissants from Ravelin Bakery (iykyk) 🥐 I cried out of frustration for the years I spent being ignored and dismissed with an “IBS” label while my body struggled to do everyday, normal things. But mostly, I cried out of joy because I finally had an answer.

Since then, it’s been a huggeee life change. From accidentally ordering a Lucky Charms latte to my husband using a gluten-covered fork on my GF pancakes... we are still very much in the learning phase!

Celiac isn’t a “gluten-free fad,” a preference, or even an allergy; it’s an autoimmune response that damages the body. It’s changed how I navigate social events, vendor meals on long wedding days, and even my own kitchen!

I had noooo idea what all of this meant, but I’m so lucky to have the sweetest husband and MIL who stocked our kitchen with GF Trader Joe’s treats the moment I got home. It’s the little things that make this big shift feel okay 🤍

Two years ago today, on my parents’ wedding anniversary, Jake asked me to marry him after a 12-hour drive up to Durango.

I honestly had no idea what to expect when I said yes, I just knew that I couldn’t imagine saying anything else. I’ve dreamt of Jake my whole life, and our marriage has been the greatest, most fulfilling part of my life.

Marriage can be hard and vulnerable, but it can also be incredibly easy when you choose to love each other first. I feel so lucky to walk through this season of life with so many of you — to witness love and commitment up close. It’s so precious to be invited into something so intimate. What a gift this life is 🤍

Some weddings just have a feeling all their own — and Bailey & Nick’s was one of them 🌸🎨

Bailey handmade the floral centerpieces (still obsessed with the WHIMSY!!) and Nick designed leather coasters as gifts for their guests — every detail reflected them, not trends. Their creativity as artists made the day deeply personal, original, and soooo inspiring to photograph.

But it was the quiet, in-between moments that stole my heart: Bailey’s mom sneaking a bite of cake, her dad holding her dress after family photos. Tender, unposed, and completely real — these are my favorite images from their day 🤍

Backyard magic in Bells, TX 🤍

Avery & Gavin got married on family land — slow moments, thrifted glassware turned keepsakes, antique brooches instead of boutonnieres, cannolis (!!), and the kind of trust that lets a day unfold exactly as it’s meant to 🥹

Crimson and Jeremy’s Hill Country elopement is officially live on the blog 🤍

Every wedding & elopement is special to me, but this one felt extra special (time to get sappy🥹)

C & J were one of the very first couples I EVER photographed back in 2020. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of photographing them as they graduated college (GMG!!!) so when they told me they were eloping and wanted me to document it, my heart absolutely melteddddd. We dreamed up the sweetest elopement weekend together, and it was everything and more! Read alllll about it on the blog :’)

I’m endlessly thankful for people like them - and for a job that keeps me connected to people in such meaningful, full-circle ways 🌷
