Alycia Holland Carriger grew up in Butte, and is proud to still call it home. After graduating from Montana State University in 2008, she returned, eager to put her photography skills to use. Alycia earned her BA in Photography with an emphasis on studio work, creative portraiture, and photography composition and theory, and still prefers the closer study of portraits to nearly all other types of

art. With two little ones of her own, she has plenty of practice with children's portraits, and understands the importance of the perfect family photo. She has a quiet comfy studio in the Metals Bank building, which is a historical building in Uptown Butte, but if you prefer she will be more than happy to do outdoor sessions as well. She even takes clients right outside her studio around Historical Uptown Butte! Alycia wants to make sure you get not only the best photos, but the best photo experience. She is excited to use her talent and make your family shine!

📸 I feel like this has been a little forgotten lately…
AI has made it incredibly easy to take someone else’s photograph and turn it into just about anything. But when you’re using a photographer’s image in an AI design, all you have to do is ask first.
Most of the time, it may be totally fine! And there are also times when the photographer or a graphic designer can help create what you’re envisioning without AI and give you something custom, plus preserving the quality of the original photograph.
Purchasing or receiving a digital image doesn’t automatically mean the copyright transfers with it. Photographers put a lot of time, skill and creativity into creating and editing their work, and copyright still applies even though technology has made altering that work incredibly easy.
It really comes down to one simple thing: ask permission before altering someone else’s work. ❤️📸
