The partial lunar eclipse captured during the early hours of this morning (28th August 2026)

I started capturing the event around 3:30am when the moon started to move into the main shadow, the umbra and stayed with it until almost moonset as the moon had moved behind some trees. So here are a few images I took over the 2 hours.

The famous wreck of a DC3 Plane on Sóheimasandur black sand beach along the south coast of Iceland.

The U.S. Navy Douglas C-117D (Super DC-3 variant) crash-landed on the black sand beach on November 21, 1973, after experiencing severe icing and fuel starvation. All seven crew members survived, and the iconic, weathered fuselage remains a major tourist attraction today.

Visitors can take the 45 min walk from a carpark but we chose the shuttle bus which took around 10 to 15 mins.

These are some of the images I captured of this intreaging structure.

Yes... but...

The art of an edit.

Creating an image is more than just pointing a camera at a scene and pushing a button. The real magic happens during the edit.

My aim during the editing stage is to take the flat raw image and bring it to life to convey what I saw with my own eyes and felt at the time as well as add some creativity to produce the final result I am happy with.

These few images provide some insight to what I have created vs the initial image captured in camera 📷.
