Are you a Cat or a Lion… and does it really matter?

Some businesses are cats.

They like to stay behind the scenes, quietly getting on with what they do. They may be brilliant at their work, but they don't necessarily shout about it. Marketing can feel uncomfortable, and putting themselves in front of a camera, posting on social media or talking about their achievements may not come naturally.

Others are lions.

They are confident, visible and happy to roar about their business! They embrace publicity, put themselves forward and make sure people know exactly who they are and what they do.

But here’s the question… does it really matter which one you are?

Not really.

You don't have to become a lion if you're naturally a cat. The important thing is finding a way to make your business visible that feels right for you.

A cat can still be noticed. A lion doesn't have to roar all the time.

Whether you prefer to be front and centre, quietly showcase your expertise, let your work speak for itself or build relationships behind the scenes, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to marketing.

The key is to understand who you are, who your customers are and how you can connect the two.

So… are you a cat or a lion? And more importantly, are you making enough noise — in your own way — for the right people to find you?

Your domain name matters more than you might think

When choosing a domain name for your business, it can be tempting to simply pick the first one that’s available. But your domain name is an important part of your brand and can make a real difference to how easily people find and remember you.

A good domain name should be:

* Easy to remember – Keep it simple and avoid complicated spellings.
* Easy to type – If people hear your business name, can they easily find you online?
* Consistent with your brand – Ideally, your domain should reflect your business name.
* Right for your audience – A .co.uk domain may make sense for a UK-focused business, while .com could be better if you have a wider or international audience.
* Professional – Your domain will often be used for your email address too, so think about how it will look when shared with potential customers.

It’s also worth thinking ahead. Will the domain still work if your business grows, expands its services or changes direction?

Your domain name is your digital address – and just like choosing the right location for a physical business, choosing the right one can make it easier for customers to find you.

So before you click buy, take a little time to make sure it’s a name you’ll be happy to build your brand around.

Finally think about SEO if your domain includes what you do e.g. we offer visuals hence Accentuatevisuals.co.uk it is one more place a search engine can find you.
