Hello everyone!

We are back from our Christmas festivities!

We’re feeling a little weighed down by all the cheese and the absolute heartbreak of Stranger Things coming to an end, but our hearts are full. This was our very first Christmas as a married couple, and it’s a memory we’ll cherish forever. We hope you all had a magical holiday season (and didn't cry quite as much as we did at that series finale!).

A quick health update: I (Reagan) am almost fully recovered from my bout of pneumonia and am feeling ready to take on all the adventures 2026 has in store.

Exciting news: You might notice our website is down for a little while. We are currently preparing for a major change at Viking Photography! This is something we’ve been discussing for over a year! Stay tuned!

For our couples awaiting memory boxes: These will be posted later this week once your images arrive from the printers. Keep an eye on your inbox for an email with your tracking number.

🎄As we approach the festive season, I (Reagan) wanted to share a quick update with all our lovely followers and couples.

While I was looking forward to a busy run-up to Christmas, my body had other plans! I’m currently fighting a tough bout of pneumonia. I’ve started a course of antibiotics, but I now need to take the doctor's advice and commit to total rest so I can get back on my feet for the New Year.

Viking Photography is now officially closed for the holidays.

Josh and I will be completely offline from now until January 2nd. I won't be checking emails, DMs, or comments during this time to give myself the best chance at a full recovery.

To all our 2026 couples - please don’t worry! Your bookings are all safe and secure. I just need this time to focus on my health so I can be 100% ready to capture your special moments next year.

Thank you all for your incredible support and understanding. Wishing you a healthy, happy, and peaceful Christmas.

Huge congratulations to the gorgeous Matt & Carli — now officially the new Mr & Mrs Riddle! 🌿✨

They tied the knot yesterday in a stunning outdoor ceremony at Silk Mill in Frome, surrounded by breathtaking blooms lovingly grown by Matt’s wonderful parents. In front of their nearest and dearest, they said ‘I do’ — and what a day it was!

We’ve been seeing lots of posts about gifts for vendors. Mostly we see this in relation to photographers and videographers and wanted to share a quick message for our amazing couples who might be thinking, “Where am I supposed to find extra cash for this?!”

We’ve been lucky enough to capture so many beautiful weddings and have received all kinds of thoughtful gifts: Home spa packs, bottles of booze, cash, chocolates, you name it. But honestly? You absolutely don’t have to feel like you have to bring us anything at all!!

These gift trends can sometimes make people feel pressured to spend more than they’re comfortable with.

Here’s the truth: what really makes us smile is a simple card and a lovely review. We’ve kept every single card we’ve ever received because it’s the thought that truly counts — and it lasts way longer than any box of chocolates, trust us on that haha. Plus, a great review helps us far more than any chocolate ever could because future couples get to hear the voices of our previous couples.

And in the words of 90s WWE Legend Stone Cold Steve Austin... “That’s the bottom line!” — no gifts necessary, just your love and support!

We won’t go into detail about the… let’s say “professional douchecanoe” our lovely couple encountered. But let’s just say: we’re rooting for karma (and the fraud squad) to catch up. ⚡️

Our beautiful bride reached out to us in a total panic — the weekend before her wedding — after realising they’d encountered a scam by someone posing as a professional. Sadly, this is happening more and more.

We jumped in with a reduced-rate session to make sure she and her now-husband still had their day captured — honestly, beautifully, and with the care they absolutely deserved.

That moment? It broke our hearts a bit. Because these two are the kindest, most genuine souls you could ever meet and is the reason we started saying . It was one of the sparks that ignited the fire behind Legacy of the Longships

It reminded us: when life hands you lemons… sometimes you need a damn margarita and a camera crew that actually shows up.

🌿 Welcome to Legacy of the Longships 🌿

Legacy of the Longships is a heart-led charitable project by Viking Photography, created from our own lived experiences with grief, chronic illness, disability, and caregiving.

Over the years, we've stood beside families in moments of both joy and heartbreak. We’ve taken the last photos a family ever had together. We’ve travelled to hospitals, hospices, care homes, and quiet front rooms — because when someone matters, where they are doesn’t.

This project is our way of giving back.
Through Legacy of the Longships, we currently offer:

• Free wedding and portrait sessions for individuals living with terminal or life-limiting illnesses

• Free portraits for elderly individuals in care homes or receiving home care

• Free remembrance sessions for those experiencing bereavement & grief

• Heavily discounted wedding photography for couples who have been scammed by their original photographer

This work is not about profit. It’s about people. Every session is offered with care, dignity, and the belief that everyone deserves to have their story told.

You will always have full control over how your story is told. If you’d like us to share your story, we’ll stand beside you. If you’d rather keep the images private, your wishes will always be respected.

Although we are not yet a registered charity, our application is underway and we are following the legal process. In the meantime, Legacy of the Longships is funded through a Pay It Forward model — made possible by our clients and community. When they book with us, a portion of their package is placed in a secure fund to provide these sessions to others.

We’ve been there for parents experiencing grief & loss. We’ve travelled to homes, hospices, and hospital rooms — wherever you needed us — to capture the memories that matter most.

This is our legacy to you — the people who remind us every day to be gentler, love harder, and live fully, as if today were our last.
