Because sometimes the BEST bits happen before anyone even steps on stage 💜📸

Did you know… If you’re really nice to us (bribery in the form of snacks is always considered 👀😂.. or ya know, take a leaf out of Studio3.danceacademy and Leanne Marie Pole ‘s book and get us an entire goodie box?!? WT?! So lucky 🍀) we’ll even rock up early and capture the studio time, rehearsals, getting ready, last-minute run-throughs, ridiculous faces, nerves, giggles and all that gorgeous behind-the-scenes chaos before a show or performance. 🥰

Because yes, the big stage shots are bloody lovely… obviously… but there’s something a little bit magic about the moments nobody else gets to see ✨And when I get to shout “BE BETTER” at 𝖢𝖺𝗂𝗍𝗅𝗂𝗇 𝖧𝖺𝗂𝗇𝖾𝗌 Studio3.danceacademy dancers in the studio when they’re rehearsing 🤣 it’s rather satisfying 🤣

The calm before the chaos…. Well the chaos in a different location… The friendships. The concentration. The “WHY HAVE I FORGOTTEN THE ENTIRE DANCE?!” five minutes before curtain up. 😂 Rosie bradbury defo shouted something similar to this at some of these girls 😂

We LOVE this stuff. The real bits. The memories between the memories. 🥹💜

Studio 3… IT’S SHOW DAYYYYY! 🔥📸💃

The cameras are charged, the memory cards are empty and we’re mentally preparing ourselves for approximately 4,736 sequins, flying limbs, dramatic faces and dancers moving significantly faster than our shutter fingers would appreciate 😂⚡️
We are bringing the boogying, the eating of snacks (SO EXCITED) the smiling at terrified looking children who get on stage and panic, and we’ll undoubtedly misplace an SD card mid-performance (watch out for our terrified faces and we realise we can’t find it and then discover it IN SOMEONES POCKET….

We’ve been SO excited for this one and today we finally get to photograph the absolutely bonkers amount of talent that is Studio 3 Dance Academy 💜

So dancers… bring the sass, hit the shapes, point those toes and PLEASE stay in the lighting because we can’t perform miracles 😂📸 Honestly.. stop dancing in blackout spots… please 😂

The faces, the flexibility, the sass… and the casual folding themselves into shapes that would require the rest of us to call an ambulance. 😂🔥📸 Yup.. me.. I tripped over one singular STONE yesterday… I’m not even joking.. I shouldn’t walk around outside in my slippers…

Honestly, dance photography is about 50% trying to capture the perfect moment and 50% staring through the camera thinking HOW IS THAT LEG EVEN THERE?! 🤸‍♀️😂 The amount of times I just exclaim “MATE” as I’m taking photos.. you wouldn’t believe…
These little superstars absolutely understood the assignment and gave us EVERYTHING - attitude, tricks, gorgeous lines and enough personality to fill the entire stage. 💜 I’m so jealous of their dance abilities man 💔

NEXT SATURDAY… WE’RE BACK BEHIND THE CAMERAS 📸⚡️ (enough of this, “having a rest” malarkey.. we enter into a back to back event mission 🤣) and this time it’s for Studio 3 Dance Academy’s ONE YEAR celebration! 🥳💃 365 days of dance magic, questionable amounts of hairspray, several missing shoes and socks backstage, approximately 7 billion rhinestones and dancers absolutely SMASHING IT. 💜✨ We cannot WAIT to capture all the chaos, sass, sparkle and those “please tell me you got that shot” moments. 😏📸 We’ll try our best.. 😜
