Mr Ollie enjoying the summer sun, the rare occasion to get a nice photo of him 😂
I apologise for my absence this month, It’s been quite busy as this little guy has been quite poorly with Cystitis 🙁 he was at the vets overnight with a catheter in and came home the next day, but he was back and forth the vets every day to manually express his bladder as he was unable to do it himself. There was very little improvement after 2 weeks or so and we were told news we didn’t want to hear…but Mr Ollie fought hard and after a few days he started to go to his litter tray less (he was constantly back and forth and even lying in there on occasions) and he started to do bigger wee’s in his litter box. He’s changed food to a special urinary food which will hopefully help reduce this problem in the future.
With male cats cystitis can be fatal if you haven’t caught it in time, the main symptom we look out for is going to his litter box more than usual and not doing any or very little wee, finding blood in the wee is also a sign that you should take your cat in straight away.
