If you got engaged over Christmas then CONGRATULATIONS !!!!
And welcome to the crazy world that is wedding planning!!
But where do you start? There are so many things to consider when planning your wedding that it can become a bit overwhelming.
1. The first thing you need to consider is if you want a big wedding or a smaller and more intimate wedding, there are pros and cons to both and this will be so dependant on who you are as people. Take time to think this one through and try not to let outside opinions push you in to something you don’t want.
2. Once you have that decided your next stop will be choosing your venue and setting your date.
Are you after a barn wedding, a country house, or would you prefer something smaller like Chelsea Town Hall, still with the wow factor but a cheeky walk to the pub for your wedding breakfast after with all of your closest family and friends.
There are so many different options out there and now is the best time to start looking because many will be hosting open days and evenings over the next few months.
3. Ok, time for real talk, you’re going to have to at least pretend to make a budget! If you’re anything like me, your going to make it, panic, close it and just live by the motto that you will make it work 😂 but seriously maybe at least chat together about what things on your list are the most important so you can drive more of your budget to those areas.
4. Now you have your date and venue it is time to start sourcing suppliers, many venues will have a list of preferred suppliers which is a great place to start but don’t feel like you have to stop there. You may meet others that you gel with more or whole style is more suited to you.
5. Take 5 minutes to chill out! just enjoy the fact you’re engaged, your wedding is booked and your main suppliers are sorted and go out on a date night to talk about how truly brilliant you are and how really you should make a career out of wedding planning because you are clearly superstars 😂👋
