Golden hour over the limestone peaks of Khao Sok National Park, captured from near the Cheow Lan Lake Dam as the sun dropped behind the mountains.

One of the things I loved about this view was how quickly it changed. Heavy storm clouds rolled in overhead while the last light squeezed through a gap in the peaks, lighting up the landscape for just a few minutes before disappearing completely.

Thailand has no shortage of beautiful sunsets, but this one felt a little different.

Patong Beach at sunset.

As the heat of the day starts to fade, the beach takes on a different energy. Parasailers drift across the sky, jet skis carve through the water, and people gather along the shoreline to watch the sun disappear into the Andaman Sea.

One of those evenings where there was something happening everywhere you looked.

Not far from Phuket’s beaches and resorts, life looks completely different here.

This is Ko Panyi - a floating Muslim fishing village built on stilts over the water, home to a community that’s lived here for generations.

What struck me wasn’t just the setting… it was the contrast.

Longtail boats drifting past, kids weaving through narrow walkways, washing drying in the sea breeze, the call to prayer carrying across the bay… all against one of Thailand’s most photographed landscapes.

It’s easy to come for the scenery and leave remembering the people.

Spring from above at 🌿

The evening light, fresh colour through the trees, and those bright yellow rapeseed fields surrounding the gardens made this one pretty special to photograph from the air.

Aerial photography always gives a completely different perspective - showing how landscapes, gardens, and architecture all connect together rather than just isolated details on the ground.

I started my photography journey 16 years ago with TUI, travelling the world photographing destinations, excursions and points of interest for marketing campaigns.

At the time, I thought I was just a travel photographer.

What I didn’t realise was that working in-house meant I was constantly being thrown into completely different types of shoots - conferences, events, award ceremonies, lifestyle shoots, staff portraits, headshots and more.

I didn’t always feel comfortable doing it either. Especially photographing people.

But every random job, every uncomfortable situation and every challenge was quietly building skills I’d end up relying on years later.

Now? I genuinely love photographing people.

There’s something really satisfying about creating portraits that feel natural, confident and real - whether that’s a corporate headshot, a personal branding shoot or just capturing someone at their best.

These portraits of Lucie felt like a good reminder of how much that journey has evolved.

Funny looking back and realising the things I once felt least confident shooting are now some of the work I enjoy the most.

Some places genuinely don’t look real… and Cheow Lan Lake is one of them.

Longtail boats drifting through giant limestone cliffs, water so ridiculously turquoise it looked edited, and absolute silence apart from the engine cutting through the lake.

What makes it even wilder is that this lake is actually man-made. It was created in 1987 when the Rajjaprabha Dam flooded the valley, turning the area into one of the most surreal landscapes in Thailand. Nature basically said, “fine… I’ll make it beautiful anyway.”

Safe to say this became one of our favourite spots from the whole Thailand trip 🇹🇭

Shot a full dress rehearsal of Shrek The Musical at , Wellingborough.

Working during the dress rehearsal meant I could move freely, capture different angles, and deliver images quickly for press, socials and promotion ahead of opening night.

Fast-paced, unpredictable, and exactly the kind of environment I enjoy shooting.

A recent lifestyle shoot at capturing families exploring the new Wind in the Willows adventure trail.

Interactive woodland games, storytelling moments, and a creative workshop indoors - loads of great little moments to photograph.

Shoots like this are always fun… you just let kids explore and the pictures pretty much make themselves.

Make sure you get down to one of the RHS gardens to enjoy the trail.

Cast headshots for the upcoming production of Shrek The Musical at … and honestly, what a brilliant group of humans to photograph.

I shot the full cast in one evening - loads of laughs, loads of personality, and exactly the kind of energy you want from a theatre company gearing up for show week.

Features here is the one and only who will be playing Donkey 🫏

The show runs 16 - 19 April at Castle Theatre in Wellingborough, so if you’re local, go and support live theatre… you won’t regret it.

Big thanks to the team for trusting me with this one.

⚠️ Vain post alert. You’ve been warned.

I’ve been testing studio lighting setups ahead of some theatre headshots I’ve got coming up, which apparently means staring at my own face for an unreasonable amount of time and questioning every life choice since 2005… and yes, there have been some questionable moments.

It’s not until you look at yourself in a computer screen that you realise your salt and pepper bead is now significantly more salt than pepper! When did that happen!? (Don’t answer, it’s rhetorical 😂)

This was all about playing with light and expression – smiling vs not smiling, friendly vs “I’m serious about my craft”, actor vs bloke who needs a nap.

Swipe across… which one would you book?
Smile or no smile? 😐 or 😊?
