After reading this article, I took the decision to remove all of my client images from my Facebook Business Page. From now on the only images I share will be ones where clients are happy to share their images online with the full knowledge of this article.

I’m proud to share that…

I’ve become the first photographer to be awarded the Guild of Photographers’ brand-new Professional School Photographer Qualification!

I am now officially recognised as a Qualified Professional School Photographer, and this achievement means a lot to me. This qualification is more than just a title — it’s proof that the work I provide to schools and parents meets a truly professional standard, acknowledged by one of the UK’s photographic associations. It is one of only two associations who specifically acknowledge School Photographers with qualifications.

School photography is something I genuinely care about. Capturing those important moments that families treasure for years is a responsibility I never take lightly. To have my work assessed and approved at this level is both humbling and incredibly motivating.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey — And thank you to the parents who have given me permission to use their children's photos so I could submit my work for this qualification.

I've spent the last four weeks in schools and pre-schools, it's great being surrounded by the little people. They do make me smile. From the Reception boy who was muttering "I 'ate school, I 'ate school, I 'ate school" as he was walking to where he had to stand and then refused to smile, to the little boy who had bought me a present (a tomato, which he pulled out his pocket) he told me "I growed it for you in my garden", the little sweetie and then the little girl who "drawed" me this. The children make it so that my job never feels like work, I really do love what I do and I always appreciate the schools and pre-schools booking me again and again. I never take it for granted. It's always an honour that they choose to have me as their school photographer.
